Idea for the Website - Baldelli Watch

I think we should have a "Baldelli Watch 2008" section where we can see how Rocco did in his most recent rehab game. I see he went 1-3 with a K and a BB in his first AA game. I think that most people, while not optimistic about seeing #5 come back this year (or ever), are generally hopeful and like to follow his progress.

As I said, just an idea. If not, I may just post his stats in the fanshot section after each game.

i concur, a baldelli watch would be awesome.

all these nay-sayers are the same people that said he would never swing a bat again, enver play baseball again, now they say he’ll never make it to the majors. open your eyes people, the man is on a path straight to the trop. to anyone who knows this team, and baseball in general, saying that price is going to be up before rocco is truly an absurd statement.

No it’s not, because neither you or that person know Baldelli’s health, which can and has proven to change at any moment. Knowing baseball, this team, and his health are not the same thing whatsoever, and the fact that the team declined his option and are actively seeking a trade speak pretty loud to me.

1. the team declined his option before this treatment, whatever it is, was being administered.
2. the team declined his option before he had taked a swing this year
3. are we actively seeking a trade? really? or are we just being linked to every RF in the game?

i maintain its’ an absurd statement. Rocco’s health is obviously better, the fact that he can play every day should prove that whatever treatment (HGH) he’s on is probably working, and honestly i don’t expect to see Price up this year. all of that = rocco before price, if it’s ever going to happen.

We’re actively seeking a trade, in fact we’ve been amongst the most aggressive teams in the trade market.

It may be an “absurd” statement to you, but it has nothing to do with baseball or this team. Rocco still can’t run very well and still isn’t playing the field, I don’t think it’s too far fetched to assume he’s not coming back.

So if Price is called up before Baldelli...

What are you going to say then? I think it is more likely we will see Price…IMO, you come across as a know it all, that knows nothing by making statements like this. Could Baldelli be called up before Price? It’s possible, but the only way that happens is if the Rays are forced to bring him up because they cant keep him in the minors any longer per the CBA.
