A 2- lead going into the ninth, helped by scoreless innings by Dale Thayer and Jeremy Cummings, The International league gave up 6 ER in the ninth, and despite a rally in the bottom of the ninth, they could not come back. Chris RIchard was 0-2.

AA: Birmingham - 5 Montgomery - 7

Birmingham started things off with a 2-R HR in the top of the 1st. The Biscuits answered in the 2nd after a Gabby Martinez double put men on 2nd and 3rd. Nowak scored on an Erold Andrus Groundout, then Martinez scored on a Wild Pitch. After a solo HR in the top of the 4th, J.T. Hall hit a 2-R top put  them up 4-3. The game was over on a Rashad Eldridge RBI Double.

Baldelli: 1-3, walk

Eldridge: 1 for 5

Hall: 2 for 3, HR

A+: Vero Beach - 0 Dunedin - 1

Not a lot of offense here, Heath Rollins had 6 Scoreless innings, while Bradley Mills complete dominated the V-Rays to the tune of 7 IP, 11 strikeouts. Only offense was an RBI double in the 7th by Robert Calderone.

Heath Rollins: 6 IP, 0ER, 4BB, 3K

A: West Virginia - 14 Columbus - 4

Tough night for the cat fish, Ryan Flores and Glenn Gibson each were nailed with a combines 7 ER in 5.2 Innings.


Loyola - 2-3, walk

Mccormick - 1-3, RBI

A- Hudson Valley - 7 Auburn - 12

The Game Started off well with a 7-2 lead in the second thanks to Kyeong Kang hitting a 3-R HR in the first and a John Mcolline RBI single. Than the offense shut down and the pitching went to hell:

Andujar: 3 IP, 4 ER, 5 K, 1 BB

Kang: 1-4, HR, 3 RBI

Estrada: 2-3, 2 BB, 1 RBI

RL:  Princeton - 0 Burlington - 7

Only 3 hirs for Princeton, with 1 going to #1 pick Tim Beckham. The SP Chavez wasn't terrible, giving up 2 ER in 5 IP, but draft pick Matthew Long have up 4 ER withouit recording an out.

Tim Beckham - 1-4

Kevin Chavez: 5 IP, 2 ER, 4K, 1BB.

I attended the Vero Beach game

and was unimpressed by Rollins. A lot of his outs were screaming line drives and deep, very hard hit fly balls that the ball park just contained. As the game went on, he got a few swinging strikes, but never that many, and he often fell behind batters. Quite a few 3-0 counts.

He did work himself out of trouble-obviously. But overall it was an erratic outing at best.
