His splits are definitely out of whack with his career

I don't think this affects the amount of money he's being paid...
i think it just affects how much the mariners owe him now. I don’t have his numbers, but if he were to make 3 mil this year, it would break down like so:
Mariners pay $2,610,000
Yankees pay $390,000

The Mariners have to pay the balance of the $50 million, four year contract he had to sign with that team
Or at least what’s left on it, pro-rated for the rest of the year. The Yankees will end up paying about $130k+ to Sexson since that is the league-minimum, pro-rated again for the rest of the season.
