Ben Hendrickson pitched well, to the tune of 7 IP with no  earnedruns, 2 strikeouts and 1 walk. Salas pitched a shutout inning and Dohmann pitched a shutout inning to get the save.

Joel Guzman - 1-4, 2B, RBI

John Jaso - 3-4, 2B,

AA: Montgomery - 5 Birmingham - 3

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Price came into the game without giving up a HR, he would give up 3 solo HRs. Eduardo Morlan would get the win after 2 scoreless inning. J.T. Hall contributed the go ahead run on an RBI.

David Price - 5 IP, 3 ER, 3 K, 0 BB

A+: Vero Beach - 0 Dunedin - 9

Rough start for Chuck Tiffany, giving up 6 ER in under 3 IP. The offense had 4 hits, and struggled to get anything done.

Chuck Tiffany - 2.2 IP, 6 ER, 5 BB, 2 K

A: West Virginia - 11 Columbous - 4

West Virginia was powered by a 10 run 5th inning,  while Maiko Loyola hit another HR for the catfish.

Jeremy Hall - 4.2 IP, 8 ER, 3 K, 1 BB

Maiko loyola - 1-4 HR, BB

Reid Fronk - 2-2, HR, BB

A-: Hudson Valley - 4 Auburn - 3

Nick Barnese continues to be a Strikeout machine, fanning ten in 5.2 innings. This year's 3rd round pick Jacob Jeffries went 3-4, and has a line of .276/.323/.425/

Princeton just didn't get a ton done offensively, mustering only 4 hits, two by top pick Tim Beckham.

How bad defensively is John Jaso?

I've seen Mason pitch a couple times this year

and I think he has a pretty good future in the bullpen. He throws a decent amount of strikes but doesn’t have overpowering stuff. He can locate is pitches very well making it tough for hitters to hit the ball hard. I think, much like JP, you allow major league hitters to see him 2-3 times in a game they will be able to find a pitch and hit him hard but in 1-2 inning outings he can be very successful.

As for Guzman

he has been by far one of the most disappointing players I have seen come through Durham. You look at him and you can see the power dripping off of him and you can see where one day this kid could hit 30 homers in the majors, however right now he has trouble with off speed pitches (although he is getting better) and chases outside of the zone way too much. He does have good speed and his glove while not great, isn’t so bad it will cost you many games. I think he is a guy who could eventually make it in the majors but if we can include him in a trade I would do it.

Mitch Talbot through 6 striking out 8 and only 1 run.
