Gomes last stand?
After tonight’s game, the Rays face four straight vs. LHP:
John Parrish (Sun vs. TOR)
Dana Eveland (Mon vs. OAK)
Dallas Braden (Tues. vs. OAK)
Greg Smith (Wed. vs. OAK)
Could this be beloved Jonny Gomes’ last stand with the Rays?
Longlorious.
Free Kila Kaaihue!
Halladay plus 4 lefties in a row?
oh man, this could get ugly. Eveland has already shut us down in Oakland. Braden is garbage but that screwball may cause us problems.
here
As reported in today’s Times, SS Jason Bartlett’s next test in his rehab of a right knee sprain will run the bases Monday or Tuesday, but Maddon said it is possible Bartlett could do a rehab assignment before returning. However, he said that hasn’t been discussed yet.

Some interesting early batting practice this afternoon at the Trop, as MC Hammer – who will perform a post-game concert tonight – took some hacks in the batting cage.Hammer, who spent several years in his childhood as the A’s bat boy, received the moniker of “Hammer” from Reggie Jackson, who said he looked liked Hammerin Hank Aaron.
Well, there were no homers Saturday, but Hammer did hit two off the wall.

I'm sick of hearing these guys talk about how Scott Rolen "can really turn it on in the second half."
I root for the two worst teams in baseball, non-ironically.
Yesterday they kept saying how it was such a good move to walk Hinske and get to Zobrist
then Zobrist hit the HR
2 walks in 1 game for Halladay
Doesn’t he have like 10 all year?
wtf is up with Halladay?

I don't know
Hopefully the Rays can score a couple runs before he gets it together
Upton got a good jump on that steal attempt
and then slowed down 3/4 of the way there like he thought he had it easy…
KKKK!!!!

Garza's Line
7.2 IP, 0 R, 2 singles, 0 BB, 6 SO
i don't know if we should use Howell
2 straight games, he wont be able to go tomorrow. We are up 5 and need only 4 outs. unless they are gonna change him in the 9th
hmmm
he can def go tomorrow if that was it. what did he throw, 4 pitches? bring in Reyes for the 9th plz.
im just using gameday right now
did he “Cliff Floyd” that? By that I mean did he rip the stuffing out of the ball and make it sound like it went 500 feet?
Because of the hilaripus bunt single Navi laid down against Halladay earlier.
I root for the two worst teams in baseball, non-ironically.
Navi didn't read the Curt Schilling book
I hope we bring in someone in the 9th to plunk them and Gomes comes out to make a contribution

Its not like we bunted for a hit to kill a perfect game- why would you try to hit Zobrist and then actually hit Navarro
=) its all good
maybe your calling his shot

did Navarro do anything? They are assholes but I hope he didn’t, the suspensions weren’t fun.
wtf the Jays announcers are shitty
wtf- whats not to like???? PLay better infield DEFENSE if you dont like getting bunted on
i hate these fanboy announcers
“every call went against the Jays”
“it was just bad luck”
and now they complain that we bunted and agree with Navi being thrown at? Idiots.
Just makes it much better to know that we are 3 outs away from being 8-1 from the Toronto Blue Gays /immature
them justifyig it is just makiing me insane
get over yourselves…. Like I said, dont wanna get bunted on??? Play better defense—- You think a football team would quit putting the pressure on after hitting a 90 yard fly route? doubt it

Great game....trop was rockin tonight. Found out friday my company was getting box seats....
we ended up getting seats in the suite next to Hammer (actually, there’s 3, but the middle one had a Camera crew in it or something). Never got to meet him, by the time we went over he had left to start getting ready.
And it’s nothing bad, but longo shoulda came back out and waved to the crowd after the GS. Everyone stood for a LONG time after that slam. We gave Garza a standing O too, and yea…he hat tipped. ;) But that was his first, so he was probably pretty jacked from it.
Oh...and they probably didn't show it on the TV....
but holy crap….Garza singing the theme song to the Prince of Bell Air was damn funny…..and they showed the dugout after it was done and you saw the players giving him crap for it too ;).
Off the top of my head (90’s night, so they superimposed people over images from the 90’s)
Cliff Floyd – Jamacian Bobsled Team
Longoria – Backstreet Boys
Navarro – Zorro
BJ Uptop – Fresh Prince
can’t remember who this was – Ace Ventura (Henskie possibly)
Aki – Rush Hour (best guess).
