The place shall be packed.
Tickets have sold out, and those in blue shall be bearing brooms and grins.

Does anyone know why...
on nights like tonight when the rays sell out why they don’t uncover the nose bleed seats and sell more tickets?

I don't know.
Because that would be smart

I know that Tropicana was built to encourage a diversity of sports interests.
Perhaps they are obstructed from decent baseball viewing?

I was under impression that was to have more sell-outs
In the past, for Yankees and Red Sox gams the place would be packed with the exception of a few rows. You still see on ESPN with they give the attend. figures even though the Trop is “sold out” the figures state 76% full.

I've seen some pics from down-level angles
Those top-most seats look like they might have an obstructed view due to one of the catwalks.
I still maintain that the Rays never hired the staff for it and therefore have no way to quickly deploy those seats.

This is the 3rd game of the year that they rays have played on ESPN...
and only twice has it been blacked out…both times when the sox were in town (the other time was the cubs and they left that one without a blackout).
DirecTV needs to either a) allow that game or b) send us channel 66 in HD :P.
on a side note, anyone have a good OTA antenna that won’t cost me an arm and a leg so i can start getting the local (66) games in HD? FSN, even on extra innings package i can still watch the game in HD.

Kaz isn't right
I really hope it’s not the case, but I could see another DL trip forthcoming. I mean, an 87-90 MPH fastball is not Scott Kazmir. He looks awful lately.

His velocity has been down all year
but it’s been way down the past two starts. He was throwing this slow against the Pirates as well. He just isn’t right, unless you think Mark Hendrickson type velocity is what Scott Kazmir is all about.

There was an incarnation in the late-80s/early-90s that did
The main incarnation, 1975-1984, played real soccer in the North American Soccer League. And they won the championship in 1975.
This one is playing in USL First Division, the soccer level just under Major League Soccer. Think Triple-A.
