I read an article in SPT that said Reid Brignac was amoung the "untouchable". WHY?
Barty is not going anywhere anytime soon. And his offensive shortcomings are overshadowed by his unbelievable defense. I say include Brugnac an a trade for bullpen relief

I think he will be the starting SS next season. He is a very strong defensive player and a pretty solid bat

Neither Pena nor Aybar were trying to do that. THey both were going for a big hit. Sometimes you have to sacrifice oyurself to score a run.

Aybar took controlled hacks, and Pena was swinging normal

To choke up and hit a groundball instead of going for a hit?
possibly in certain scenarios with 2 strikes
but pena isn’t pujols. and i didn’t expect him to essentially sacrifice himself on the first couple pitches. but when he was down 2 strikes he should have changed his approach. we were losing the game and the team is STRUGGLING to score runs. he knows that pretty much any contact will score a run yet he didn’t adapt. i don’t have a problem with pena, it is a team wide problem. pena has been playing fine lately. i think when the team is struggling like we are you need to start manufacturing some runs. we can’t rely on the 3 run homer. especially when we are losing

i don't expect every player to get it done 100 percent of the time
but our success rate is pitiful
it is happening way too much to this team
thats why i don’t want to single out pena, but something teamwide needs to change.
