R.J. Anderson for GM!!!
Maybe then some shit might get done to improve this team...We'd probably have Bonds and Murton by now for sure.... Haven't always agreed with R.J. but the man knows baseball. So tired of watching the Rays get smoked..They've been getting stripped of players for years and we finally get a chance to improve and do something special NOW and Sternberg and Friedman shove their heads in the sand and hide.....We only have so many roster spots for all these prospects!!!! Something's gotta give.

what is he crying about detriot is only like 5 back from the chisox, they didnt trade him to washington or seattle
longo=ROY. friedman=Executive of the year. Maddon=Manager of the year. Rays=WS champs 08!
You'd juwst put breadsticks in ovens,
"I'm like a retarded Adam Dunn mixed with Jason Bartlett" - R.J. Anderson
you would probably be better than what seattle, washington and SF GM's have done
they are the some of the dumbest GM’s in the league, why wouldnt you trade washburn’s salary for nothing if you had the chance, i know i wouldve

I bet that's where all these trade rumors are coming from...
the sand, where Friedman is hiding. This is hilarious!
Tools Whore
Sign Bonds!
Well he can be "involved" in every trade out there
If they can’t show at least some flexibility it really doesn’t matter….We can keep everyone and let them rot in the minors when we can’t find spots for them and they end up like Niemann at age 25 and still a prospect, or Ruggiano who probably deserves a shot but they have too many veterans without options that they don’t want to eat their contracts. Price, Hell Boy and Davis need to be kept, but everyone else should at least be considered. His head may not be in the sand, but if he doesn’t get something accomplished it’s probably up his ass!!!

Niemann is 25 and stioll a prospect
because he attended college and tore up his shoulder in the minors. Come on man, get YOUR head out of the sand. No one is being blocked. Jackson and Sonny will be gone (atleast from the rotation) eventually. Niemann could be our closer. Price and Davis in the rotation. Talbot and Mason are bullpen arms. Hellickson is still 1-2 years away. So who is being blocked besides MAYBE Niemann for the past 3 months, and he might have needed to be in the minors anyways
A deal will get done if it works for both teams, or atleast ours. We wont get bent over like some foolish GMs. If a deal doesnt g et done, then guess what? Hellickson and Niemann have shelf lives that last past the trade deadline and if we truly dont have room for them then we get proper value for them later and become a better team
no one bash friedman just yet he still has about 14 hours to get something done

I am still kind of on the bandwagon that we willl end up with someone that comes out of no where
Like a Tejada or Ibanez, two names that haven’t been associated with the Rays but due to everything else that has happened could pop up on AF’s radar. The Astros have said no trade with Tejada but I’m sure if we offer up Brignac and another pretty good piece (Niemann or Jackson) they would listen. Tejada is getting old so he may actually put up a little bit better numbers at DH than he is doing right now in the field.
why would anyone want to take on Tejada's contract?
trhats what Im not getting. Didnt the Stros sign him to a BIG contract and then find out months later he was on roids and he iis actually 2 years older? Not to mention his power numbers have declined for several years. I actually like Tejada too, but no thanks
Well if the Bay to Red Sox rumor is true...
..then chances of us adding any kind of impact bat are slim…Right now the way the pitching staff is throwing I think a bat is a more pressing need..we can’s expect to win every game 2-1 or 3-2..we need to put some runs up to take some of the pressure off the pitchers..And hitting tends to be contagious. Pena and C.C. seem to be heating up a bit so I’d like to see us bring in that “spark” especially entering thess next 9 games..If we can take 7 of those 9, which isn’t far fetched, I think we’d have a great chance of winning this division.

If we obtained Bonds and Murton I would gouge my eyes out
You dont just make a deal because you a few fans get antsy at the trade deadline. It’s okay. Relax. Take a deep breath. From all the reports it sounds like Pittsburgh is getting greedy. They keep trying to hold out for something that they wont get, and now that they have other teams getting involved they are taking their time. We cant just give guys away because they are there to be given away. This is the same line of thinking that some used as an excuse when Hamilton left. “ah well, we had no room for him anyways with CC, Upton, Young, Dukes, Baldelli, Gomes so it really isnt important that we lost him for NOTHING”. It’s the same line of thinking that the yankees used a decade ago when they depleted their minor league system. You have to understand that player’s have value, and you can’t just throw that away because you “have to get a deal done”. We are still a 1st place team, Im sure Friedman didnt get this team there with his head in the sand. Oh yea, and we’ve won 3 series and split 1 since the AS break, so no reaosn to panic for this young young club
Actually, RJ is actually more like Jim Rome and we are his clones.
War Rays!
War trade deadlines!
War!

If nothing happens, I will not be disappointed….. This was the year we were suppose to go .500..
next year is when we get our best players playing, and then we will worry about rental players.. if we need them…
