Todays game (July 4th) was boring, uninspired trash...
JUST KIDDING. HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!
E=Jackson^2 redeemed RJ? The failiners winning yet another? The Yankees still being terrible? WHAT A GREAT HOLIDAY!
Tomorrow we face the friendless Grienke. Coincidentally, he has as much consistant talent as Sonnanstine, so it should be a match for the ages! Are you as excited as I am? Probably not, since i'm drunk and am having sex with a girl! TAKE THAT RAYS NATION. A GIRL!

Jackson mowed down a lineup that he should've.
Sonnanstine and Shields should too.

Jackson
worked very quickly tonight, and through 6 innings was exceptionally efficient with I think just 78 pitches. He threw a few more the next two, but only was in any kind of trouble in the 8th, and then he had a 7-1 lead to start the inning anyway. And he did get out of it with minimal damage.
He got ahead of most batters. It drives me a little batty when he gets to 1-2 and then throws 2 pitches no where near the plate; it’s not that he goes to 3-2 or in one case walked the batter, but that he throws pitches that have no chance. But that is a silly quibble tonight. He was excellent against the Royals.

I'm still appauled at attendance...
I hate living 90 freakin’ miles away from each home game. If I still lived in Dunedin this would be an everyday thing.

Going to games I mean...
Not sitting at home and scratching my head at 16,000 people for each game.

Tell the bandwagon fans this.
We’ve heard it enough around here and frankly these aren’t the people that you need to tell to go to the games.

Considering everything,
I think the attendance was good. It was against the Royals, not exactly a draw, and after three sellouts against the Red Sox (where casual fans were more likely to want tickets).
These are the kind of games you used to see 7,000 people at.
The truth will set you free, but first it will piss you off.

30,000 + for Saturday's game
AGAINST THE ROYALS.
People that aren’t the core fans aren’t going to come to an early evening game on the 4th. I thought the 16.000 was a respectable number when considering that the Royals were the opponent and the many alternative forms of entertainment people have in sunny Florida.

20,000+ for a Sunday game
against the Royals?
Now, I have to say… That’s a pretty decent number. No way that gets trumped tomorrow though, unfortunately.
