Any chance...
we could be scouting Grienke at this game? I thought i had read that he might be available…

He is available
for a young impact hitter. We aren’t loaded in that category. I hope cool Sonnastine shows up tonight.

yes, no active player his age or younger has more
and he’s on pace to finish in good company, if his knee holds up

I'm guessing he won't get to 700.
by R.J. Anderson on Jul 5, 2008 7:21 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
he's already at 300,
if he averages 50 a year, which is below his current average, for only 10 years, which considering he’s only 26 is plausible, looking at ricky henderson playing til past that age, he would end up in the 800’s, 700’s minimum, which is top 10 all time.

We've got shields locked up for another 3 years iirc....
If we’d give up one of the big 3, i’d prefer Garza, since he’s only signed through this year and shields and kaz are signed for 3+ more.
Although, any details on a possible extension for Garza?

Shields is Greinke
Good K:BB ratio and therefore good WHIP, but slightly homer prone. I’d take Shields experience, contract, and lack of head problems. Both are fun to watch.

Greinke is better than Shields, talent wise.
Don’t get me wrong, Shields is great, but Greinke is ridiculously underrated.

How does ANYONE
even the Mariners GM, rationalize trading Rafael Soriano for Horacio?
by joeybw on Jul 5, 2008 9:09 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
You're talking about a GM who traded for Jose Vidro, ate almost all his contract...
....and then made him the DH.
You have no fucking idea how bad at this game Bavasi was.

Is it generally believed that he’s the primary trade bait this season?
Would be a shame, but games like this are only helping.
