Harden traded to the Cubs
Harden and Gaudin Sent to Chicago; A?s Acquire Donaldson, Gallagher, Murton and Patterson.
That's another solid pitcher out of the American League. Stunning it happened today, but the deal is done. Scratch Murton off the table for us acquiring a RH OF. I think that is a nice haul for the A's but the Cubs are clearly in good shape to slug it out with Milwaukee. St. Louis can kiss their butts good bye.

Looks like nobody is waiting for the deadline
So when do you guys thing we will jump the gun and get Fuentes or Nady?
That was quick
Who has the better 1-2 combo now? The Cubs or the Brewers? I’d go with the Cubs but only barely.
I expect that the Cardinal will soon be making a move to get someone.
Harden is really, really good.
I’m not sure which combo I would go with.

The Cubs don't just have Big Z and Harden
they also have Dempster who has been great this year as well. I think you have to give them the edge.

The Cubs made out well.
The A’s could have gotten more than what they got.

Really surprised Oakland cashed in their chips
Their run differential suggested they were in a really good position to overtake the Angels.
But Beane has done this before
So I shouldnt be too surprised

I think the Cubs win this one
Are any of those players they that good?
We couldn’t trade a package of Hammel, Zobrist, Gomes, and some low level prospect.
Gaudin is very underrated.
He’s at least as good as Gallagher. He shouldn’t be viewed as just a throw in. The rest of the prospects seem kinda blah. Great trade for the Cubs. The only other decent player they gave up was Murton, and they’ve been winning without giving him a chance, so they fleeced the A’s.
Gallagher>>>Gaudin
He is two years younger, has a better pedigree, and hasn’t had his numbers inflated by playing in OAK. Patterson is a former top prospect and Donaldson is a highly regarded offensive catcher. I would say that Murton is the least projectable player at this point.
Great, wonderful
I am thrilled
Now lets grow a sack and make a couple of trades so I never have to see a game like tonight again.
I understand the frustration
But as wide as the strike zone for Petthghite was tonight, I don’t think it would have made much of a difference.
