Mirroring the increase in attendance, the Rays TV ratings have seen a healthy gain over last year. |

This is very interesting
Thank you for posting this, I have never seen something this statistically explicit on local team TV ratings.

And to think...
How many people in Central Florida with Bright House networks and the same Comcast deal I have, DON’T have FSN? You’d probably be looking at the biggest increase rather than 2nd biggest if everyone had it…
Jeez, we have better viewership than the O's and Nats combined
It would be even better if Bright House Orlando carried FSN Florida.
Do not think that what is hard for you to master is humanly impossible; but if a thing is humanly possible, consider it to be within your reach.
No
This is only Regional Sports Network ratings, ION is considered to be in a separate category for over the air networks.

Probably not
The Marlins and Rays have very strong television contracts founded upon a generally high level of interest in televised sports in this area. I’m sure we scraped the bottom of the American League at some point, but I doubt that we ever reached the consistent level of ratings futility that the Nationals are seeing.

Semi-OT:
People seem to be wearing alot more Rays gear out … almost like when the Bucs first got good you saw a huge increase in their merchandise being worn. For example last night at the DMB concert i saw alot of people wearing rays gear.
Really good to see.
Protect the Trop: Keep northerners out.
Much better than
The Hollister hats/shirts worn by most of the DMB fanbase.
For the record, I respect the Dave Matthews Band GREATLY…But I always seem to get stuck next to ‘that fan’ when I go to their shows.

ION vs Brighthouse
I think that scale is unfair because that doesn’t include ION. How many of you guys watch ION , and how many see games do u watch through something else like brighthouse? AND which do u guys think is better … Im a fan of ION myself.. what do u guys think?
The scale is fair precisely because it excludes ION
ION is an over-the-air television network, the ones listed here are all Regional Sports Networks. Fewer and fewer teams have made a point of putting their games on over-the-air TV in recent years because more money can be gleaned from going to cable. No doubt, ION gets higher ratings, as do most over-the-air network telecasts as compared to their cable partners. That’s why throwing ION in would skew the comparison.
FWIW, I have cable on Bright House, so it doesn’t matter to me. I understand those who don’t have cable disliking the FSN games, but I like them better for several reasons:
1. The FSN games have pregame shows occasionally, whereas the ION ones never do.
2. The FSN games are sometimes followed or preceded by “Inside the Rays”, which is somewhat interesting. For comparison, ION games are preceded by some crappy game show and are followed by a televangelist or some crappy sitcom.
3. Most importantly, the FSN games get crystal-clear reception. The ION telecasts get quite a bit of static.
