MLB needs to change their blackout rules in a horrible way
I hear they’re revisiting the issue this offseason. Hopefully they substantially narrow down the blackouts. Honestly, I think the ideal would be to only blackout non-sellout home games within 50 miles of the home stadium.

Carl Crawford will undergo surgery to repair the torn tendon band in his right hand.
He’ll likely miss the rest of the regular season, although the team feels he could return for the last couple of games. It’s a big loss for the Rays, who could look at Kenny Lofton or even (dare we mention) Barry Bonds for depth in the outfield.

That was the idiot sportswriter in Toronto were claiming about Frank Thomas when the Jays let him go, even though his OBP/OPS were about 10 times better than anything they had to replace him.

Lord knows, I’m a staunch defender of his, too. At some point, though, the walks start to get overrated when you’re not hitting for any power or driving in runs. With Longo and C.C. out, a big part of the burden falls of B.J.’s shoulders, and you can’t drive in runs looking at pitches all the time.
