Sheffield put on Waivers
Leyland and Sheffield sound like a couple of idiots arguing over Sheff's playing time. I've personally like Sheffield for a long time and think he might be useful in the Trop, assuming they don't want too much for him.

Leyland has sounded quite reasonable suggesting that Sheffield is not platooning

Agreed
Although Leyland publicly “burning” Sheffield like he did was not really the right move for a manager, especially one whose team has performed so far under expectations. He’s really got no room to talk.
They need to do something
if last night was an indication of things to come, i see trouble on the horizon
Navi and Hinske since ASB, are awful
Define awful
Because in Navarro’s case, a .325 OBP and .700 OPS from a catcher are average, or slightly below average at worst

Imo Rays have better things to spend $14 million
on, that’s close to half the payroll, isn’t it? What kind of message does it send to the other players?
Spend the $14m to lock up a great prospect for years, not to pick up a guy at the end of his career. What is the guaranteed part of Longo’s contract, $17m?
not half of the payroll, the payroll is about 45 million
Longo=ROY. Friedman=Executive of the year. Maddon=Manager of the year. BJ UPTON IS NOT LAZY! ! ! Gabe Gross= clutch. David Price is the next big time pitcher.
