Red Sox place 3B Lowell on DL with muscle strain.
Obviously this is horrible horrible news... but it is good for the Rays...

I guess its only fair...
Since Over the Monster has a thread celebrating Longo’s injury.

Well, sorta
I mean, I guess not really. The literary equivalent of a fist pump would have to be expected considering they’re Sox fans.

I wouldn't call a muscle strain horrible news. If he had his elbow bend the wrong way then we can call it horrible news.

Its his oblique though...
they’re a pain in the ass when it comes to recovery.

This is good news, honestly.
Lowell was doing the “gamer” thing and trying to play through pain, hurting the team in the process. In his last AB on Tuesday he couldn’t even swing the bat with two strikes on him and the go ahead runs on base. Lowell’s done very little with the bat the past few weeks, and Sean Casey can adequately replace him in the lineup. Jeff Bailey might also get some starts. But don’t expect this to hurt the Sox.

That's too bad.
Lowell is one of the few Red Sox I actually like.
