Even when the pitcher is a stud, the AFRO has kept HS pitchers in short season for at least a full year. Don’t expect to see him make a full-season debut until 2010.

Davis, McGee, Hellickson, Waechter, etc. The only HS pitcher I can think of who skipped short season was Houser.

There are a few others as well. Some teams just universally skip their better prospects over short season, especially the ones who value prospects as trade bait more than as future pieces of the team, since a prospect’s trade value is increased if they have better ARL.

Absolutely no reason for that call. I thought the player had to cross back over the foul line to be tagged out for intent to run to second. Secondly Bossman turned back towards the plate. That ump needs to get off his knees and wipe his chin after he is done blowing this game.
