I’m excited. We have the best record in all the land.
I’m also annoyed. Please stop talking about our “road woes.” We have a .500 record on the road. Same as the Cubs and better than all but 4 teams in the league and only worse than 1 AL team. We’re elite on the road compared to the rest of the league.

because they aren’t shown on local TV. They have precedence over local TV. So they don’t play them on FSN or ION.

Edwin Jackson looked absolutely poised and completely at ease rolling out six solid innings in a crucial game between contenders, and for that, he and the Rays deserve a whole lot of credit. There were times during the 2007 season when Tampa Bay might’ve dropped Jackson out of its rotation, but the Rays stuck with Jackson and kept giving him the ball, and he is now among the top half of the AL starters — and getting better. Remember, he doesn’t turn 25 until next month.
Motherfucker is insane. “Poised” = walking five, letting the leadoff man reach the first five innings. ‘Top half of the AL starters" his tRA is over 5.5, that’s beyond awful.

he Sox pounded Edwin Jackson for 7 hits and 5 walks in the first 5 innings, but only managed 2 runs. Yet again, the Sox managed just 1 hit with a runner in scoring position (which failed to plate General Soreness) and struggled with fundamentals on the basepaths.
On the last trip to Tampa Bay, the Sox couldn’t properly execute a rundown. Friday night, they couldn’t throw out a runner they had picked off and handed two straight outs to the Rays when it appeared Maddon’s crew was reading Ozzie’s mail. First, Juan Uribe was throw out on hit-and-run when the Rays called for a pitch out. Then just a couple pitches later, on the first pitch after Orlando Cabrera reached base, Tampa called for another pitch-out to catch Cabrera on what appeared to be a straight steal, properly executing the rundown, of course.
