Developed by Graham MacAree, the basic introduction to tRA is located here. tRA involves assigning run and out values to all events under a pitcher’s control and coming up with an expected number of runs allowed and outs generated in a defense and park neutral environment. tRA is on a R/9 scale and does not involve any regression of the rates so while it should be more useful at determining a pitcher’s true talent level, the best method for pitching projection is to use tRA*, the regressed version of tRA. tRA* is coming soon to the website.

I think it's pretty much
what the ERA should be based on the amount of fly balls, ground balls, pop ups, strikeouts, and walks allowed. I probably forgot a couple.

Edwin screams set-up guy or future closer. At least to me.
He is doing a good job I don’t see him working for us in the rotation in the next two-three years. If anything I see both EJax and Sonny going to pen to make room for Davis and Price. Furthermore I see the same thing happening to Jake McGee. He would be a great set-up guy or closer with his fast ball. But, that’s just me.

Right now I am more confident with Sonny against the bad hitting teams and more confident with Ejax against the better hitting teams
Over the long run I feel Edwin will be a far better pitcher than Sonny.
I mean last year Garza sucked. Sometimes you have to project the future. You can not just extrapolate the present.
