Well, Steve Phillips did say Cliff Lee was the best left-handed pitcher in baseball...

I will eat my hat
if he can come close to reproducing this season next year. This is a fluke year, see Loaiza, Esteban for more information.
I lean Jason Schmidt
Real, but will only last a few years, and never as good as the first one.
Vogt early, Vogt often.
That could happen too...
In Lee’s defense, he’s not as crappy as Loaiza.
But Steve Phillips is still a twit. Santana >>>>>>>>> Lee and its’ not even close.
Boo to the bottom half of our lineup.
Gomes and Hinske need to be more patient. This could’ve been Lee’s last inning if we had worked the count some more. As it stands he might come back for the 7th.
SRQman told me he was printing my post and giving it to Upton tonight
If he does, he becomes my hero.
I wish rocco was activated.
I want to see him pinch hit for gomes. It’s not like he could do any worse than Johnny’s been doing this year.
Cabrera is killing us
Lee is done
lets see if we can come back facing this pen for 2 innings
fucking Cabrera
epic fail.
I don’t feel like i’ll like navarro as much once his average drops below .300
assdrubler pisses me off
Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.
Aviles is a good little ballplayer he could be on my team any day

Used to drink beer
then I got the Joe Maddon glasses. Now I drink wine. And pop my colla.
Vogt early, Vogt often.
you will never be cool enough to wear 5 popped collas at once

He's got a big juicy K:BB ratio going on this year though.
I hope RJ makes a mention of this. We seemed to have good luck in games against the tigers when this fact was mentioned.
Hey, maybe it'll be good Edwin.
I can always dream, right?

Mr. Walkoff, Aki and BJ in the 9th
at least gomer swung the lumber tonight

I still blame Fernando Rodney for this game
Bartlett is such a spark plug for us
Riggans is playing LF
Blame barty not knowing how to bunt
when you don’t hit for power or walk a whole lot but have good wheels you should be able to get a GD bunt down

Keep your heads up
Provided the scores stay as they are, tonight is a victory. August 5th, a 3 game lead against an outstanding pitching staff is very difficult to overcome. The Sox are running out of time, and Bucholtz looks like he is still a year away from being a great one.
It should be clear
Of course 90% of your responses in this forum are argumentative, and pretty damn ignorant for someone who supposedly played the game at a high level
Haha...thanks
So now we are happy with a loss as long as the Yanks and Sox lose…keep it up
So what else are some of my ignorant responses....
Just for clarification
That trying to steal 3rd
with 1 out and the middle of the order up is a “good play,” even though stealing 3rd is horribly low percentage. But you played, you didn’t coach
Yeah...if you know you can get a good jump, then it is a good play...
Stealing 3rd can be far easier then 2nd if you are a good baserunner. But you read Moneyball, so every runner and 3rd hole batter is identical. Humans dont play the game. SOme guys arent long to the plate. Keep it up…keep reading…no, seriously.
RJ wanted to see him get balled
Now that would be a sports center highlight
Situational Hitting has been horrid tonight
Pena is frustrating the hell out of me. I know he adds value, the SLG/OPS speak for themselves. But with 1st and 2nd and nobody out, it is still all or nothing with him. He seems incapable of moving runners unless he hits one out of the park.
we suck at aiming those hard hits
come on top of the order
its one of the worst teams in baseball and we are the best home team in baseball, this isn’t cool.
Yankees already rallying. But Sox still down
We’ll get them tomorrow. The hitting showed signs of coming around against Detroit. I’m not worried.
I hate cliff lee

Wtf is up with the Rocco thing?
It is very homo-erotic.
Kind of creepy.
I don't know if I've ever seen you make a non-Rocco comment that is usually negative.
It’s okay to express your true feelings towards him. This is 2008, we are a much more tolerant society.

pretty shitty game
i sat in left field, the delucchi bomb went a few rows over my head and this guy i know was standing back there (it was beyond the last row into the aisle) bounced off his glove (yes he had a glove) rolled down the aisle and osme kid got it. Apparently it was david delucchis 100th home run and the rays security took this kid down an dhe came back holding a wad of cash
