There are too many people complaining

Last year, the Rays had less wins than they do right now. In the beginning of August! The people who are complaining need to keep quiet. I don't think anyone expected them to be this good.....I thought, 4th place for sure, maybe 3rd. But they are doing much better than anyone could have expected. And some fans are getting spoiled. I don't know if its because they just hopped off the Red Sox bandwagon and so they are used to winning. I don't know if its because they think they are better than the player they are ragging on. But it just makes me so angry that people forget where we were at a year ago and think that if we don't win the World Series NOW, then the world is over. THIS IS NOT THE YEAR WE WERE SUPPOSED TO CONTEND! It was next year, and the year after. The team will get better, and if they struggle a little this year, then I'm okay with that. Because it will help them get better next year and the year after when they have better shots of winning the world series.

Some of the quotes i have seen on here and on the heater:

BJ = Poor Man's Manny Ramirez...except without the offensive production.

when i went to the see the rays get blown out by oakland… people in the outfield started chanting trade BJ and how he is so slow and doesnt try…he is purely in it for the money

the oakland game where the rays lost 8-1?! well then you missed quite a few shots that were hit very close to upton and he jogged over and would either let it bounce or it would go pass him and crawford would end up getting it… obviously you missed those plays…and those plays happen almost every time he plays!

does anyone beside me think that he's next to go? a leftover from Dukes and Young. the three amigos.

time to move Kaz to the bullpen ... seriously, the guy is NOT a starter!
he is an OVERRATED relief pitcher in the wrong spot

staff aces have more than a friggin fastball in their arsenal and they definitely gotta be able to go 6+ innings .... MORE THAN ONCE PER MONTH! he can't throw his slider right now and he doesn't trust his changeup, so he's basically showing up to a gun fight with a pocket knife

The problem with Kazmir is he hangs out with Crawford, Upton, and Jackson too much.

none of us on here understand the hate for bj upton and he shouldnt be hated

even though bj hasnt had the power that he had last year, he is extremely patient at the plate, has already stolen 12 more bases than he did last year and he gets to so many balls that most people would have no chance for, to call bj upton (among the group of our favorites) lazy is just dumb and they dont understand who he is as a ballplayer and i dont pay attention to them because they just are false statements and he is not a elijah dukes or a delmon young, dukes is a complete dumbass and delmon has always put himself before everyone else and i dont think he understood what it took to be a good teammate.

Bottom Line, BJ Upton is probably stupid (I mean look at his skin)

The team was warned heavily by Maddon during the last KC away series (prompted by Aki’s lollygagging a grounder). This warning was also made public by Maddon the day after. I saw the grounder in question, and BJ did slack off. He does this ALOT. In fact, you could say BJ believes his fantastic plays (like the 6th inning super catch) gives him goodwill to slack off when he wants, which is bullcrud! Bottom line, the dude is an all-star, from the neck down.

If they don’t want to bust ass down the line every time a ball is hit they’re just lazy unappreciative players. GOD! How many of us would just love to hit one, I mean one routine grounder to SS just so we can feel what it’s like to go all out to 1B with thousands in the stands and millions of viewers on the tube watching?

I suppose players (and people in general) get unappreciative of what they have until it’s gone. Just like in the movie “Field of Dreams” I’d give anything just to have one AB in the BIGS.

What does hustling out even a routine grounder do? It forces an infielder to rush his throw which many times results in an error. These guys are too damn young to not bust ass down the line every time they hit the ball.

It’s not like BJ Upton is a perpetual dog. He has the highest OBP on the team, so the “hustle” isn’t hurting his ability to get on base.

Four of those quotes are from the heater, which is garbage.
One of those quotes is from here, and the guy got permabanned.
One of those quotes is from here, and was sarcastic in it’s context.
One of those quotes looks like it’s mine, but would be taken out of context and is rife with punctuation errors so it might not be.
One of those quotes I don’t recognize, which means it’s probably from the heater, which I believe has been clearly established as garbage.
