does the hatred of batting average come from it being the traditional standard?

or is it really useless as a stat? I don’t see how you can hit .350 and not be a great hitter?

It's not completely useless,but it is overrated.

OBP/SLG tell you everything BA does. Obviously if there’s a .300/.400/.500 hitter or a .250/.400/.500 hitter you take the former, otherwise it’s just meh.

And if you’re a .350 hitter it means something. But Juan Pierre hitting .290 every year still sucks despite what appears to be a “good” average.

How can 1 game of a series be in HD and another not? Dont HD games mean they are using HD cameras? Do they rent them for the day? What gives? If ION and FSN own HD Cameras wouldn’t all games be in HD?
