Signing Deadline
I was just curious to see if anybody has heard or read any news on our unsigned draft picks from this year. The deadline to sign is next Friday (Aug.15th). I remember reading on here about a month or so ago that Lobstein and Morrison had signed. Morrison is currently at Princeton but I haven"t heard of any more developments on Lobstein. I also have read from a lot of you on here that we should sign Carpenter and Meridith. Please share if you have any news.

Morrison officially signed about a week ago...I also saw the thread on this site where Lobstein signed but that's not the case...
Here is the link from an Oregon paper where Morrison signed (he was to play w/Oregon)

I have nothing on Lobstein or Carpenter, but we knew we were going to have to pay good money for both, esp. Lobstein. Time is running out.

How are so certain?
Not trying to be rude, I just want to know what’s your source?

BP article
“Fresh off of one of the quicker No. 1 overall pick signings in recent memory, the Rays will continue to build their farm system as well with some big bonuses. Sources indicate that second-round pick Kyle Lobstein will sign with Tampa for $1 million, and that fourth-round selection Ty Morrision, a toolsy outfielder with plus speed and power projection, will also sign for a ‘slightly’ over-slot bonus.”

I hate "sources"
Sources told me Jason BAy and Brett Favre were coming to Tampa : (

Haven't heard alot about Carpenter and Meredith
If someone could fill me in on them an why everyone wants them signed, that would be great.

Carpenter is pretty close to Lobstein in talent.
But apparently had a rough season.
Meredith/Magee are just big time athletes.

Ahh thanks
I assume by athletes you mean they are big, strong and fast?
I dont think Lobstein will play at all this year. Same for Carpenter if he signs.

Pretty much
I believe both are two-sport athletes, similar to Bryles, only Magee is a LBer at Arizona State if he really doesn’t sign. This is Magee:

I'd love to sign Carpenter but I bet we have to overpay to sign him
And until they sign on the bottom line, I don’t believe shit.I’ve been let down way too much lately about guys who sign/trade here

LMAO
I left my pc to change my newborn and I come back to find my 2 year old sitting in my chair in front of the pc with a big smile. Apparently he left a message or two!
