Citrus Park Little League, Tampa in LLWS

Sorry but I was confused by how to use fanshots, move this if you can. I just wanted to give Citrus Park some love. They have a really good team and a shot to go far in this thing. They have great pitching and a REALLY good overall team. They are on ESPN right now, they are winning 1-0 in the 3rd. I think  if they win this game they go to Williamsport. The game on right now is being played in St Pete btw

Citrus Park advances to Williamsport

Fuck YEA!!!! Damn that brought a tear to my eye. I played at Citrus Park for 10 years and I made All Stars the year I wouldve been eligible for the Series, but we got beat in districts. I hit leadoff and played SS. Ive always wondered if I would get to see CP make the LLWS. Its so difficult to advance that far. It takes a lot of talent, I dont know if some people even realize how talente dyou have to be to make that level.

I was hearing months ago that Citrus Park was a shoe in to make it to Williamsport. The Alabama coach said CP is the most well rounded team in the tournament

When I played at CP

We actually played against a few really good players that are in minor league or college ball right now. One of them was Corey Brown, former OF for Plant HIgh who is in Oaklands minor league system now. That kid was a freaking monster. We had a pretty damn talented team that year, and Corey Brown played for Bayshore LL and they beat us twice and knocked us out. Brown hit 2 bombs in one game, and was a freakin manchild. He tried to start shit with our team too. I wasnt surprised when I heard that he was arrested for sexual assault his sneior year at Plant

I played at CP as well...

Great to see them make it… Always been a very good little league program that was too diluted by the abundance of programs around the area.

Dunedin has quite the Little League program as well...

They have lost two different times in Championship games to advance to Williamsport. And in 1991 the did go, and placed 6th in the world.
BTW, LL is outdated and there are many other superior league’s. You can’t lead off, and it is almost impossible to steal.

Pony league allows you to steal

I played a year of LL with Robby Thompson, after that he switched to Pony League and on our Junior High team he was already stealing with impunity, none of the rest of us had any experience stealing bases.

Pony league is a joke

How is LL outdated when it is getting bigger and bigger EVERY YEAR with its coverage on ESPN? Every year they make a bigegr deal about the LLWS and add more and mroe games to be aired, and have more and more ocverage

Everyone knows LL is the elite league, which is why it is only getting bigger and bigger every year. Its funny to me how the only argument Pony leaguers ever have is that they can steal bases 2 years earlier than Little Leaguers. Who cares? So what you can steal on 45 foot base paths? That must be a thrill. Last I checked Little League plays on ESPN and play against teams from around teh world

I think Pony League baseball play some tournament in Cali or Texas that nobody ever sees or cares about
