I took my family to the game tonite and watched our team get beat to a pulp. That part I could swallow (albeit it was difficult to watch). The beef I have is where in the hell are our fans? I was almost embarrassed to call myself a Rays fan tonite. EVERY you looked there were RedSox Fans and lots of em. At this time of the year and how critical of a game this was, there was absolutely NO excuse for not only their being more fans, but the place wasn't even sold out! Sad site.

This is news to me!

Our fans don’t go to the Trop?!?! The place doesn’t sell out?!?! No offense, but this is old news, and you’re preaching to the choir. Even though I couldn’t go tonight, I’m really glad I didn’t. I don’t think I could have stomached a beatdown like that tonight. Thank the lawd for MNF. I’ll be there for 5 of the next 6 games. Let’s not worry about the empty seats and worry more about collecting W’s and winning the division.

Every Red Sox game has a playoff atmosphere

Their fans are everywhere. There hasn’t been a vacant Red Sox bandwagon on the planet in years.

It is highly disappointing that our fans aren't coming out right now

I understand all the good things regarding attendance. We’ve made strides. No question about that.

But come on. If there is any series, or any couple of weeks for baseball fans to come out and support a team this would be it. Frankly if we aren’t able to pack the house w/ Rays fans these last couple series then we probably won’t do it in the playoffs.

And if we do not do it in the playoffs then we just do not deserve a team.

God Damnit I can only get 3 seats a game.

Noticed you were on the GDT.

Until you are at the game, kindly keep quiet.

There were a grand total of ten rows of seats in the baseline boxes and some upper-upper-upper-deck seats empty. Those seats are empty for every series because they’re obstructed view. Even when the Cubs were here, and all three games sold out, those rows were empty. The reason you saw the empty seats on TV (I’m assuming) was because everyone WENT HOME AFTER 11 RUNS IN FOUR INNINGS.

I didn't feel like reading all the re-hash again

But I don’t think anyone mentioned the fact that most of those Red Sox fans bought their tickets before the season.

sorry

I forget logic isn’t allowed on the attendance rehashes.

Attendance Ad-Lib

I went and was aghast at the <choose “lack of our fans” or “opposing teams fans”>. This is getting absurd! We are in a playoff race here, and the area just refuses to support the team.

<if from Tampa use “When are the idiots by the Bay going to realize that the geriatric community WILL NOT support this team!” or if from St. Pete use “Why won’t lazy Tampons come support this team?!?! The drive across the bridge is NO BIG DEAL.”>

We better start supporting this team the rest of or this team will FOLD!

THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR NOT GETTING TO THESE GAMES AGAINST!!!!!!!!!!

Lack of support for our team

I have been to over 60 home games. I am a HIllssborough county native and I am completely embarassed by our lack of support for such a superior product as the Rays have provided. I was a at the game last night and at least 45% of the crowd was pro Boston and most with red shirts on. I watched the game on tape since then and the tv crew did a very good job of masking what the tv audience saw. Also, I noticed when leaving the stadium about 15 to 20 buses parked south of the stadium which were probably out of town Red Sox tour groups. Take out the Boston fans and we had maybe 15,000 Ray Fans in the seats. I will continue to follow the Rays wherever they end up. We are very deserving of the criticism of the national press. We do not deserve a team. The Tampa Bay area including ST. Pete is very bush league and that is coming from someone born here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once Boston leaves and Minnesota comes in – Thursday night we may get 15,000 with 21, 000 empty seats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I work for RAYS; So I am really getting a kick out of most of these replies.

Some of you guys are very good at making it sound like you know what you are talking about. But trust me…. You don’t. I think you just want to make yourself sound smart, when in reality you don’t know what you are talking about. This is how bad info gets passed around. If you dont know about the topic….Dont make yourself sound like you do. Cos some f*ckers believe anything they hear.

What is RAYS?

Do they make really good templates for message board ad-libs? Sorry, if I made a bad one…

by rglass44 on Sep 16, 2008 4:46 PM EDT up reply actions   0 recs

RAYS is proof that this is a template

Replace RAYS with the name of the subject. Your template is good, this one is a really old one that has existed as a meme for quite a while. If you go to FARK and look at some of the comments, you’ll see responses akin to “I work for (whatever), so I’m getting a kick out of these replies”, they’re making refrence to this template.
