A.L. Rookie of the Year Debate - Longoria or Ramirez??
I'm taking a poll on A.L. ROY opinions. The two front runners have to be Longoria and Alexei Ramirez of the White Sox. Here's a great article summarizing some points to get the debate started:

Personally I think Longoria will win even ifhe doesn't play another game this season. The kids numbers are ridiculous, and you take him out of the Rays lineup, and its a TREMENDOUS loss. More so than it would be if Ramirez were taken out of the stacked White Sox lineup.
Everyone Weight In!!!

Longoria all the way
Ramirez’s fielding is awful and his OBP is nothing special — he’s actually performed at a below-average rate overall this year.
Longoria’s main competition is Aviles, the Kansas City shortstop, although Evan should be comfortably ahead. Even if he doesn’t play anymore, he should probably get some MVP votes, too, given that he’s in the top fifteen in total overall value and most voters ignore players not on contending teams. Carlos Pena might steal the Tampa votes, though (and not undeservedly).

Just the facts ma'am
2008 Rookies sorted by Runs Created
Longoria leads in 2B, HR, XBH, RBI, BB, SF, GIDP, OBP, SLG, OPS.
Ramirez leads in AVG, H, and SB.
Longoria stole 5 less bases, but he was thrown out 9 less times. Ramirez lead in H is due all to singles, and Longo played in 14 less games.
No way Ramirez wins it.

With defense being the X factor
I'm laughing at the superior intellect.

yeah but how many RBI's does he have?
Also, old people frown on mohawks, there is no way he wins based on that alone.

IMO obviously Longoria should win but
Ramirez shouldnt even be second. David Murphy should be ahead of him, but probably wont be because he got injured.
