Recap
I do not have the fancy playoff magic number chart thingy that Brady does, but I do know the number is down to dos. If the Rays simply split the series in Detroit or sweep Baltimore and take one in Detroit the division is ours. Or Boston could just lose once (or twice) and do the work for us, but that's too nice to come true.
The B lineup spotted the Orioles a 5-1 lead and a Ben Zobrist triple acted like a spark to a five run 8th. Owner Stuart Sternberg was in attendance and nearly had a heart attack during the rally (h/t: dropkicknu for the pic):
Two more.

Ugh
I got kicked out the last thread after writing out the Tampa members of the BBWAA. Instead, just go to this link:

Yes, that dumbass Gary Shelton is a member. I have no idea why the Tribune needs 8 badgeholders. And there’s a guy from a newspaper I’ve never even heard of (Florida Times Union).

im still speechless
The good news is too obvious for even me to say but the bad news is I don’t know if I trust Talbot or Niemann for these last 5 games or next season

I posted on the ESPN board a few days ago
that 97-65 would do it, well that is what would clinch us the division, unless Paul Byrd wants to give us a early gift.

A couple of interesting tidbits from the AP:
- First time in franchise history we’ve ever swept a doubleheader
- We’ve now used 9 starters this season, all of whom are 25 and under.

Shields is 26

Maybe they screwed up
The AP article said under 26, maybe they meant 26 and under.

That was awesome
Got my pic taken with Stu and Todd Kalas, called Millar a “scab,” heckled Huff’s two good defensive plays, and saw two GREAT wins. If the guys that took the pics sends them to me I will be quite pleased and post them.
Excellent night!

Everything is in reach
Could clinch East tonight (wow)
Just 2 back of the Angels now
5 games left against shitty teams, 100 is still in reach!

I got in fr Baltimore earlier this morning
and just wanted to say that there were a ton of Rays fans at the game last night. I am not sure what it looked like on TV but in the stadium it seemed like everywhere you went you say someone wearing a Rays shirt. We didn’t out number the Baltimore fans but I was quite suprised at how many people were rooting for the Rays. I am sure quite a bit of them were band wagoners but who cares. I saw nearly as many Rays fans yesterday as I did in a couple of road spring training games.
Great win the Zobrist triple and Longoria homeruns were huge in game two, I thought Niemann did a really good job in relief of Talbot. Talbot was okay, his fastball got crushed but his change-up was filthy. He still needs a third pitch if he wants to be successful though.
All in all great trip, was excited to be able to take the 7 hour trip home afterwards with a sweep, made it a little easier.

I was shocked at how many Rays fans were there as well.
More than I’d seen in all the previous road games I’d been to combined, and I believe that’s over 6. A few in B-more, one in Philly, two against the Nats, and I think that’s it.

3rd base ln sec 60 3 rows from the field

I was in 56 a couple of rows higher for the first game
Then moved behind home and about 8 rows up from Stu and co. for the second game.

Without "bandwagon" fans we would have very few
I like to think of them as the converted.
