I really don't see anything wrong with this.

First, he didn’t set a reserve, so he’s going with whatever market value is available.

Secondly, I don’t see anything wrong with asking for more than the asking price of a ticket if demand warrants it. The only problem I have with scalpers are those who are wholely and utterly consumed with their own greed and somehow get a hold of 40 or 50 tickets to an event to sell.

by kericr on Sep 24, 2008 9:49 PM EDT up reply actions

by bdalebs on Sep 24, 2008 9:52 PM EDT up reply actions

It may seem like I'm being a bad Rays fan

But I’m seriously considering scalping one of my pairs because as much as I love this team, giving up one of the games will literally pay for my ALDS series tickets AND cover my seat deposits for next year. I find that both astonishing and extremely tempting.

by kericr on Sep 24, 2008 9:52 PM EDT up reply actions

My displeasure stems from the process.

Of how this guy gets a hold of this many tickets and I am shut out because buying a seat deposit is dumb in that I live 130 miles from the Trop.

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind.

by Sandy Kazmir on Sep 24, 2008 9:59 PM EDT up reply actions

I'm not a fan of the online process either

I didn’t like it from the start. They’re trying to make things easier for them to manage, but in doing so, they made it so much easier for scalpers to abuse.

I went ahead and created an additional 10 e-mail registrations because I have friends who want tickets, and partially because I don’t feel too keen on giving up my own even if it will pay for my tickets next year.
