Perez-Zobrist. Yay.

Brad Ziegler had a scoreless inning streak. Brad Ziegler had not met BJ Upton.

I love Perez in the leadoff spot.

Go Rays! MVP: Michel Hernandez, I will go out on a limb and say that Hernandez will hit his first major league homerun.

PS: Joe, can Jaso get his first start tomorrow, please?

Garza needs a + start. He's been mediocre lately, and he's a moody sonofabitch,

Eh

I think he would be better served by the day off, and it’s not worth risking the injury of the guy who’s basically been our #2 starter this year.

Shields is only pitching an inning tomorrow.

That smells like Talbot or Niemann to mop up. I would probably have Niemann pitch tonight and Talbot tomorrow.

He needed to learn that. If he wasn't sick/hurt today...

then I would say he was doing a half-ass job at QB because he thought he couldn’t be benched.

Something was off with him today.

He was throwing at receivers’ feet and several yards ahead of them today. He had back-to-back overthows late in the game. He looked sick or injured (not an excuse, just a concern).

Kinda hard to even know much then, what with the Gators gear surrounding me constantly. I don’t like basketball, and only the cheerleaders on the Cowboys.

Yeah.

I don’t know what’s wrong with him. Hopefully we sit him next week vs. Arkansas and just have Percy take the snaps. He was a QB in high school. Then again, so was Haden. Put him in. Or put in Newton. Anybody but Tebow next week.

They can take Tebow out by halftime vs. Arkansas. The score should be about 42-3 by then.

Someone who appreciates the beauty of each word about the game.

Cliff Lee (neck) has been scratched from his final scheduled start, Sunday’s season finale against the White Sox.
That’s good news for Chicago’s south-siders. “It doesn’t make any sense at all [to start Lee],” manager Eric Wedge said. “There would be a chance of him changing his delivery [to compensate for the neck pain], and that changes everything. There’s no way we’re going to take that chance.” Bryan Bullington will start in the potential Cy Young Award winner’s place.

I was just thinking

If the Rays batters have tendencies that make them play better against generally good pitchers….IDK just thinking like, if “good” pitchers tend to locate better over the plate and the Rays swing at everything then they are more likely to make contact against good pitchers than pitchers like Willis or Dice-k who regularly miss the plate….just pondering.

Yeah, you lost me when you spoke about the Bears

You know, ever since I can remember they suck. They ‘lucked’ into a SB (top defense that starts being awful a year later? Come on…), only to get their ass kicked by the Colts. It’s not like they aren’t good this season. It’s been a while since they last were any good. :)

Football is funny to me, because I’m not really a fan of any team. I mean, I like the Pats and all, but I’m not a fan. I’m nearly converting myself into a 49ers fan, only because McCoveyChronicles is so great. :)
