Reserves?

So today the Rays lost again to the lackluster Tigers using mainly reserves. Gomes in right, Ruggiano in left, Perez in center, Zobrist at short, Jonhson at 1st. Only starters actually playing were Longoria and Garza.

So my general question would have to be is this a good idea?

Sure the guys are hungover and groggy. Sure we deserve a day off for rest. But after tomorrow's game the next one will be a playoff game, first in Rays history. So she we be seeing our starters still in the to build momentum? Or continue this resting path?

They deserve a break

I think the boys can handle the day off, they’ve been playing their hearts out. I think being the 2008 AL East division champs is enough momentum to carry us back into a winning streak.

it was not so much the need to rest starters

as it was to find out who’s going to be on the bench in the postseason.
