Talk about a choke job blowing a 4 run lead

by td32 on Sep 3, 2008 5:04 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Should we have expected more from them?

I had hope they could pull out a win, but then I remembered what they looked like last weekend.

by rayweaver on Sep 3, 2008 5:11 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

It's all your fault!

If they hadn’t handed you Bradford on a silver platter so they could “get a look at some” other relievers – see Kam Mickolio, and today’s stellar tandem of Rocky Cherry and Jim Miller – these things might not happen with such alarming frequency.

Plus you’ve got 4 games in Baltimore late so remember how it might help.

By the way, whoare the PTBNL candidates or speculates?

We’d still have Reyes…

Also, WTF was with starting a reliever?

Cormier goes 3 innings (32 pitches)
Sarfate threw another 3 scoreless.
Then dumb shit happened.

It would be cool if they actually tried not looking like shit.

Even Stokes with the Mets right now too (granted it is a fairly limited sample size).

Tues. - 13,478; Wed. – 12,678; Thurs. – 14,089. None of those are 3000% of 600.

Gotta share this

Ina bar after softball last night here in the OC, talkin baseball with my son and a Dodger fan there.

The latter’s comment cracked me up – “Can the Dodgers have the Yanks record since they’re not doing anything with it?”

Can’t believe I have to root for Pavano! As we’re saying about it in NYY fan circles-I’d root for an axe murderer if he could throw strikes. Yeah, that Pavano is one popular guy.

by nyyfaninlaaland on Sep 3, 2008 5:58 PM EDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

He has sense

Probably the main thing to root for this season is Moose’s try for 20 wins. He got screwed by our offense the 2 prior starts – bullpen won both late.

by nyyfaninlaaland on Sep 3, 2008 6:08 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Don't know where the first comment is coming from

But he’s had some good moments in big games. Pitched great against the Sox last week – he blows that game and we’re done.

Lifetime postseason ERA of 3.42. Record’s not great, but that’s not the true measure.

by nyyfaninlaaland on Sep 3, 2008 6:15 PM EDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

either is ERA

I think it was Gammons that said the thing about him being racist.

He also averages less than 6 IP/S in the playoffs. He puts in his 5-6 w/ 2-3 runs and asks out.
