“I can confidently reply to this with a scenario. In room A, is a luscious woman*(your ultimate ideal of a wife in perfect form) and in room B, a life supply of all sorts of different bacon.
Say you choose room 1; for weeks, months, maybe even years, you have spectacular sex with this woman. You prod, you nibble, you lick, you explore every crevasse until God himself blushes; but in the back of your mind, there is a niggling sensation. It starts with a staggered climax, you know you love the woman to death, and the sex is great, and even as your hanging upside down, penetrating her anus on a kite swing over a piano while she wears that lovely pink leather mask with the zipper across the mouth that you love; something is missing. And it grows. Doubt. Even if she doesn’t age and her naughty bits stay as fresh as the day God blessed her at age 18, the doubt will grow. And it will consume you, and eventually the sex will become a chore and the chore will become a burden, and the burden become inescapable suffering until your last days, as you die a withered stump plagued with nervous disorders and you’ve said "dick no good” so many times you feel you should own a copyright on the phrase.
On the other hand, say you were wise beyond your years and chose door B. You initially doubt your choice, and even during that first bite of bacon your taste buds are subdued by the pernicious thoughts that for the rest of your days, never a woman you will touch again. Then as you eat, and you go from smoked bacon, to Canadian bacon, to honeyed bacon, your eyes open, and the voices of heaven spill out in unison; you are in a veritable bacon cornucopia. Yes, you still miss sex, and masturbate frequently, but as you feast on bacons that haven’t existed in millenia, and bacons that no mortal would ever taste, you slowly grow fat, your body diverting its energies to the preparation and digestion of new bacons. Under your new found corpulence, your sexual bits wither, shrivel and recede beneath layers of blubber, crafted from the finest pork bellies money could buy, and eventually you all together forget about sex. You die within five years, a beefed up, porked out, filled in shadow of the man you once were; and as you choke on that last bit of bacon, because your gullet is being compressed by so much fat the act of eating is toiling, you die, maple syrup glazed around your lips, with a perfect smile stretched (quite fucking literally) across your porcine features.
*For all you female bacon eating (loving) redditors, substitute all the female portions for a man of equal or greater value.

There are two ways to top this:
Be even more outrageous, or be equally outrageous on a completely unrelated topic, while doing it in five words or less.
I can do neither.
Al Davis is so sad...He just admitted Lane didn't want Jamarcus.
Brad Ziegler had a scoreless inning streak. Brad Ziegler had not met BJ Upton.
Liriano is the only pitcher that I truly fear in the American League playoffs
A couple others I think can pose some issues. But Liriano can BEAT us. I do not want any part of him or the Twins.
Al Davis: "Chris Mortenson is a professional liar."
Brad Ziegler had a scoreless inning streak. Brad Ziegler had not met BJ Upton.
Well, so I hope that this game goes 18 innings and exhaust the bullpen completely!
Is that cruel?

Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, Jermanie Dye, and Alexei Ramirez
can all fall down in their respect dugouts and be too soar to play for about a week
Calling Alexei is asinine.

Apparently I deleted the word awful. I typed it, I must have deleted it.
Tools Whore

he's not awful. but he does make out nearly 70% of the time. that being said, i remember him doing very well against us.
CC is a good fielder. Alexei is not.
And those are understatements.
Beyond the Boxscore // Calling BJ Upton lazy is lazy.
Even stat heads would say that defensive data isn't more than an educated guess and one years data isn't good enough.
So you can’t say he is awful. Especially when baseball people think he’s good enough to handle SS. When hit f/x comes out, then we can talk, but until then, it’s not perfect.
And no, he doesn’t get on base, but that doesn’t make him awful. He his for a high average and a whole lot of power. He’s in his first year in the show and despite entering his prime, is likely to make adjustments after getting caught up to the speed of the game. He’s a pretty darn good player. I’d take him over Aki.

Don't stat heads say that one years worth of defensive stats aren't a big enough sample size to make judgements off of?
Aren’t defensive stats flawed? Defensive stats tell us Christian Guzman is better defensively than Bartlett. Should we trust these?

Yes, because Bartlett has had a knee injury for most of the season

I tend to agree with Tyler as far as the defensive metrics go
Nice to look at, but a lot of times some things just seem off.
Oh, they are imperfect.
However I don’t see that particular ranking being that misleading when you consider the circumstance.
by R.J. Anderson on Sep 30, 2008 7:03 PM EDT up reply actions
But Guzman was bad 3 years ago before he got older and slower
Maybe he was helped by the rest of that terrible IF.
Guzman being in the top half of the defensive rankings is, well, indefensable.
As glass said, he’s been bad for several years now, why would he suddenly get better?
Tools Whore

Can you fluke getting better?
I’d say the more likely scenario is that the numbers are a fluke and wrong.
Tools Whore

The numbers for this year can be a fluke.
by R.J. Anderson on Sep 30, 2008 7:12 PM EDT up reply actions
If he's making more plays in his zone
that could just mean he had more balls hit right at him. That, again, wouldn’t make him a better SS, it would just mean that he got balls hit at him. Again, which leads me to believe, defensive numbers are flawed and don’t tell the whole story.
Tools Whore
Sign Bonds!
Something scouts could observe, but numbers couldn't tell you.
Tools Whore
Sign Bonds!
You could look at chances.
If he’s converting more chances does that not make him better?
by R.J. Anderson on Sep 30, 2008 7:15 PM EDT up reply actions
No. Not if they're hit right at him. Anyone could do that.
And Zones are static. Guys who play on the edge of zones might get credit for more out of zone plays despite not having great range. And that would be a credit to scouting reports and coaches who position the players.
Converting plays that are hit right at you doesn’t make you a better player.
Tools Whore

This Chrisian Guzman?

Listen, I’ve seen Bartlett play and he still has plenty of range. Guzman is fat. I’m sorry, but Bartlett hurt has more range than a fat Christian Guzman.

Ramirez is awful at second and would be even worse at shortstop.

and they arent planning to fix that
They want to go with Beckham – Ramirez as there future. Ramirez needs to be in the OF.

I mean, playoff atmosphere, and both teams are playing to continue their season, and this game isn’t played if both teams aren’t in the position they are now. NCAA Basketball would consider this a tournament game.

That 1-0 score just won me $872 :)
I won my AL league by a single run since Dye or AJ didn’t plate tonight. If one would have scored, I would have lost $218. If both would have scored, I would have lost $436 in winnings.
I’m going streaking!

Gammons is a freaking rock star
If you go to a Spring Training game and see him there, he’s signing more autographs than most players.
