Not much to say here, Balfour finally had another HR hit off of him, and the timely hitting just didn't come.

it is amazing

and says a lot about the Cubs and Angels that after losing 3 out out 4 and 3 damn games on Boston, we STILL have the best record in baseball.

sonny is starting to remind me of livan hernandez

everyone praises him to be a winner, but he really isnt, the team is, welcome to the bullpen or another team next year sonny, i honestly cant wait until david price and wade davis are the back end starters in this rotation next year, because ejax and sonny are too inconsistent for me

Evan Longoria=ROY. Andrew Friedman=Executive of the year. Joe Maddon=Manager of the year. David Price= the next best pitcher TB Rays fan 2002-the day i die!

Seriously?

Sonny 5.44 K/9 1.61 BB/9 1 HR/9 42.4 GB% 17 LD% 3.93 FIP
Livan 3.35 K/9 1.98 BB/9 1.26 HR/9 44.5 GB, 21.3 LD 4.86 FIP

Sonny’s tRA: 3.97
Livan: 5.10

Sonny’s fastball velo: 88
Livan’s: 84

They shouldn’t remind you of each other at all, Livan is awful, Sonny is good.

maybe the livan comparison was too much, he is alright

i just think that he is much better suited for the pen

next year i mean

with david price ready and wade davis not needing too much more time in the minors, sonny is either going to be traded or in the pen, i much rather have him in the pen next year, unless some team overwhelms the rays

Price and Davis may certainly be better than Sonny

but Sonny in the bullpen is a waste of resources. he should be traded for fair value before putting him in the pen. of course, since his current ERA doesn’t match his skills, getting fair value will be tough. I’d almost rather trade Davis for fair value and keep Sonny in the rotation.

it's not the inconsistency that's the issue -- it's the overall quality that should matter

a 4.50 ERA pitcher who is consistent is actually a little LESS valuable than a 4.50 ERA pitcher who is very inconsistent.

Jayson Stark: You know, I’m not sure why people think the Rays are sputtering or showing signs of slipping. They have the best record in baseball. They have the best record in baseball since the break. They just lost their first SERIES since the break. They just lost their first home series to an AL team since April. So the only reason their lead has shrunk is that the Red Sox have gotten so hot. I don’t think this trip is “make or break,” because I think Tampa Bay is going to make the playoffs no matter how it turns out. What’s extra important for that team is home field advantage. So this is a huge trip, and huge schedule stretch (16 straight games against teams with winning records). But it’s not make or break, not for me.

9 = 8

jayson stark is about the only one at espn who knows what he is talking about

gammons is too much in love with the red sox, buster onley is alright, tim kirkjian gets too excited about everything and steve phillips, need i say more than just steve phillips

to win the division and that might not doit

You can not see the future.

Let us not forget how you’ve predicted a sweep for every series since before the all-star break and how you said the Rays would not finish .500. In fact you saying we won’t win 12 games means we will probably win more than 12.

What is up Rays fans

Last night I was dreaming that the Orioles changed their uniforms to look exactly like yours, except it said Orioles instead of Rays, but it was blue and everything.

And we were a good team winning baseball games.
