Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

Also, we should get some help tonight. Minnesota has already lost and Boston is down 12-4 in the 6th. Of course, nothing is certain with Boston, especially against he Texas staff, but it would be nice to get help and then get a get-away win tomorrow.

hey, we have a magic number

20. 20 years ago, i was 3, which is a holy number. like the trinity, so we can do this. Jesus is on our side… oh, if only we kept Hamilton. oh

oh oh shit i just made myself sad.

we can has Dukes back?? plzz?? He single-handedly defeated the Braves tonight.. THE BRAVES!! THE BEST TEAM OF THE 90s… tom glavine was even there… mike hampton was pitching. Dukes went 4-5 with 2 jacks, and he nearly stole a base. oh shit i’m sad

I really thought he was going to do big things for us this year.

I wish he wasn’t crazy. I miss him to. His season line is now .279/.281/.493. He’s going to be a special player if he stays on the field. Glen Gibson…not so much.

he reminds me of bo jackson and ving rhames

like if bo and ving had a son and named him Bovin Jackson-Rhames… that would be elijah dukes right there

I’m guessing he OBP is .381 and not .281? If it is that is very impressive that he is already a ~.880 OPS guy.

My mistake on pitching match ups

Wake took the beating for BOS

Does this mean will miss him?

Someone, anyone get to the bottom

of the Baldelli situation

He was never strictly a platoon player

What gives?

I know he can’t play everyday, but one AB in five games?

Splits:

RHP .746
LHP: .859

It’s almost like the Rays are going to play him in situations where he can excel or something.

They don't seem too interested in letting Rocco play the field minus emergency situations.

So unless Floyd falls off a cliff (puns are amazing) there’s nowhere for Rocco to play. Gross is better in the field and Hinske had a rough August.

My guess is they're trying to get the team

in top shape for the playoffs, and don’t want to ‘burn out’ guys like Rocco and Floyd

Should they re-sign Cliff (club option)?

There was talk early on he wanted to retire.

Apparently now he wants to stick around because he loves the guys like Upton and Crawford. We’ll see how that works out.

He obviously sees the advantages of the AL and the DH

He really played mostly in the NL

His bat is still quick

Is he horrible v LHP?

This year? Yes. Career? Not great.

SSS, but his time in Boston and Tampa has been pretty solid for him. Usually guys see their productions drop slightly in the AL.
