UCF is an up and coming school, but USF has absolutely no incentive to keep playing them.
It’s not that they’re not good enough to compete, they showed they are last Saturday, but it does USF no good. If they win, they’ve beat a solid C-USA team that they were supposed to and the pollsters don’t give a rip. If they lose, they plummet in the rankings because they lost to a C-USA team. It’s not a mutually beneficial series. Which is why USF chose to discontinue it. It had nothing to do with UCF’s talent level. More their national picture.

I’m not a huge fan of Grothe to be honest. He doesn’t look past his first WR before he takes off running. I think Gergory is a better QB but I can’t say he should be starting over Grothe because this team would still be having to pull upsets against WV without him.
