The rich get richer. Red Sox sign Takashi Saito.
Ken Rosenthal of FOXSports.com reports that the Red Sox have agreed to terms with Takashi Saito on a one-year contract with a team option for 2010.
This is another low risk, high reward gamble for the Red Sox, who are also betting on Smoltz and Baldelli. As Rays fans let's hope the Red Sox lose these bets.

Yeah
Saito looked awful during his brief play-off appearance and he’s not getting any younger. Having a bunch of supercharged cells injected into a torn UCL doesn’t mean it won’t tear again. This could easily be Gagne Pt. 2 for Boston.
