Upton expects to miss first week
From tampabay.com. I hope this doesn't turn into a kazmir deal from last year, where he kept having to be pushed back more and more. Hope he gets healthy soon and ready to hit some bombs in the next season. I still wonder how the can predict missing only one week when the season is still months away.

My guess is it probably will be pushed back
He has to be pretty certain he’ll be missing time to make an announcement this early.

Problem is
That each of the guys who can play CF decently hit lefties better than righties. I wouldn’t be shocked to see a Gross/Kapler platoon in center with Joyce starting the year in RF.
Vogt early, Vogt often.

This does improve Joyce's chances of making the squad out of spring training, no?

I think it's due to the fact that we open in Boston and Baltimore.

This is interesting...
LHP Scott Kazmir has gained close to 20 pounds since the end of last season due to an increased off-season conditioning and strengthening program designed to improve his balance.
Did he do it Gomes style or Kapler style?

~20Lbs in 3 months is a hell of a lot
Conditioning program or not, that has to be more Gomes-esque then Kapler-esque.
