Please welcome larrysw

A.K.A brother of Mr. Joeybw. Now he is a Marlin fan but you should of seen the support he showed for the Rays in the playoffs! Especially in the WS, us guys and Marlin fans have a common enemy, the god damn Phillies

And with that.......I welcome Larry to DRaysBay and hope you all do too. The Marlins link on the side is for the site run by him.

Also.....he likes Price, gotta love him now.

Thanks

Thanks for the welcome. I’ve been reading this site for awhile to stay updated on the Rays and I hope to post a little during the season.

Another blast from the past.

Larry is another veteran of the unmoderated ESPN message board wars circa 1999-2004.

I actually really like the marlins for 09

seriously though, a core of offensive players like Ramirez, Uggla, Ross, Cantu, McPherson, Maybin, Hermida, and Baker and a rotation of Nolasco, Johnson, Volstad, Miller and Sanchez along with a good young bullpen, its hard to find a weak spot. Good speed, pitching, and power. Their one weakness might be defense though.

Last year they hit alot of homeruns as an offense(3rd in NL SLG) but struggled to get on base(9th in NL OBP).

There offense should be decent again as well as the pitching, as you said their issue will probably defense.

I see them being an 82-85 win team again.

I think Josh Johnson and Andrew Miller are big wildcards here

The book is out on what they will do this year, but they both have shown that they can dominate. Actually at different times I have been big on the Nolasco, Miller, and Johnson bandwagons and it seems like every 6 years they come out of nowhere and this is year 6 since the last WS

I could see them being anywhere from a .500 team to a 87-90 win team

That would be cool to have the Marlins get to the WS.

That way we could have an all-Florida WS in 2009 hehehe , Bud Selig would explode though.

i wont be able to watch if that happens

i would be rooting for the rays in that 1 though, since they havent won a WS yet, while the marlins have 2.
