According to ESPN Radio's Bruce Levine, the Cubs signed Milton Bradley to a three-year, $30MM deal. Bradley had a monster .321/.436/.563 line this year for the Rangers, but he spent only 165 innings in the field.

This is either going to be a huge bargain for them or a tremendous waste of money.
With his unreliability physically and the fact that he’ll be playing OF full time, I don’t see a middle ground here at all.

Or it could be right on par
Over the life of the deal. I think he’ll probably be worth it, but it’s likely that most of that worth will come in one season.

That is a good point
Really, he’s well within his ability to earn all of his money in a season and a half, but if I were the Cubs, I would be frustrated if I decided that the answer to my OF problem was an oft-injured outfielder, signed him to a good chunk of change, wash my hands and said I’m done looking for this guy, then watch him go out and play 40 games in each of the 1st and 3rd years. I would consider that signing a failure even with his level of production.

And now Giambi to the A's is imminent
Still leaves Abreu, Dunn and lesser bats but damn…… this is really moving now.

I think Giambi's bargaining power is crushed by these other signings
Who else is negotiating with him? The A’s are in a great position! “This is what we are offering … or you could take the ‘nothing’ offered by anyone else.”
