Okay, a few things:
- I didn't estimate or plug in any arb guesses for those eligible.
- I didn't add in buyout costs.
- I'm assuming Price earns his major league salary, not his minor league one.
- Also assuming that Burrell's deal is 50/50, not backloaded or frontloaded.

Looks to me like a lot of talent for not much money.
Evan Longoria and David Price - the fight for my heart
The burrell Deal is 7/9
Burrell, 32, will get $7-million this season and $9-million in 2010 and will spend the majority of his time at DH, which will be an adjustment after spending the past nine seasons as Philadelphia’s starting leftfielder. His power and ability to work at-bats are plusses, his baserunning and defense negatives. He hit .250 last season with 33 homers, 86 RBIs and 102 walks.

And holy shit, look at the deal Giambi is about to sign with the A's.
Coming off a $25 mil year…
The Oakland Athletics and free agent first baseman and designated hitter Jason Giambi are on the verge of agreeing on a one-year deal with an option for 2010, sources told ESPN The Magazine’s Buster Olney.
The deal would pay Giambi, who started his major league career in Oakland, $5.25 million in 2009 with a $4 million base salary for the option year in 2010. The second year would also provide for a $1.25 million buyout.
Real solid plus
we get to watch Jack Cust chase his tail in LF some more.
Anyway, as I was lying in the puddle, I think I may have found a way for us to get Bonds and Griffey, and we wouldn't have to give up that much.

didn't the paper say
that we were up to a payroll of 60 million from 43 last year? Would that maybe include arbitration figures?
Longo has guaranteed money coming, and Upton decided he didn't want it
