jlarsen (DRays Bay): What do you expect of David Price's 2009? I dare to say that there's no better 5th starter in baseball than him.
Will Carroll chat. Usually only staff members put "DRaysBay" as location, but we'll take the free press anyways jlarsen!

What's the beef between you and Jake?
It’s not as if he wasn’t a “staff member” here.

Plus, you don't go around asking questions as "Brick/Dan from BTB" do you?

I only wrote for BTB for like a month
IIRC, Jake was a founding member of the site and wrote for it for a couple years.

David Bloom is the founder.
Jake left this site for dead without reason, I think that’s enough to lose the namesake.

OK, founder isn't the right word
But Jake was on when it became part of SBN and changed its name to DRaysBay.
I have no problem with it. It probably makes it easier to get his questions answered. I don’t really care though. Easygoing guy here. The only person in the blogosphere I hold a grudge against is Yodascout.

See, but why should he gain anything from what this site has become without him?
The guy doesn’t even read DRB, yet he wants to use it’s moniker for personal gain. I’m not overly appreciative of that.

I guess the question
Is whether you’d be pissed if, I or some other frequent poster, but non-writer, did the same thing. I guess I think of it more as free publicity.

Its just plain stealing
And wrong. To think he was trying to be right, and give him benefit of the doubt is wrong. He is wrong, and for those who have been around and know some of the history, he may be trying to tell others in the “netherworld” he is in charge. And by doing that, it couldn’t be further from the truth. So, he could be at least trying to steal some thunder, if not a lot more!

umm let it go man
Anyway, as I was lying in the puddle, I think I may have found a way for us to get Bonds and Griffey, and we wouldn't have to give up that much.

Reading him is what got me coming to this site after the St. Pete Times board closed
For that I am thankful even if whatever happened has happened.
Anyway, as I was lying in the puddle, I think I may have found a way for us to get Bonds and Griffey, and we wouldn't have to give up that much.

How would you like someone profitting off of your work?
I can not disagree more strenuously with you. Go ahead and let someone “coast” and then live off your work. Come on, it doesn’t add up.

Problem is here
Isn’t he misrepresenting himself and the site? This is the issue here. Would you like someone deliberately trying to mischaracterize or misrepresent your interests somewhere else? Time for a muzzle.

But is it really a big enough deal to make it a front page story?
Fanshot on the sidebar would have been sufficient, I think.

If I became Brickhaus
And tried to say something that you disagreed with, wouldn’t you be upset? Its a form of interfering with a trademark or stealing a persona. So, I think there are serious implications here. “jlarsen” has NO RIGHT to call himself a DRB member without the authority of Tommy, Erik or RJ

what about the scary part of that chat???
mrerjr (Trop): Should Rays fans worry about Pat Burrell’s feet?
Will Carroll: No. I think Burrell ends up DHing at least half time, more if there’s problems.
Like that b—- is really tropicana field… or that Burrell ever even knows what the outfield grass feels like is scary
IF only Harry Carey could be arounde for Kosuke.

I think the real worry should be
If we actually resort to playing him in the field for more than 1-2 games the whole season. There should be absolutely no reason why he should go out there, when we have a whole bench full of if/of backups that would all be better than him.

Getting some facts straight, c/p'd
After reading the hatefest regarding the allegedly misnamed question on BP’s chat, I feel the need to post a few things.
1. I used the location “DRays Bay” for profit?? What profit? I really don’t see them using that question in BP 2009, myself.
2. I did not leave DRB for dead, IIRC when my computer catastrophe happened DRB was actually doing quite well and even then my musings and posts were scarce at best. When the 2.0 upgrade occured, it was already noticed that RJ was pretty much taking the helm and making important decisions regarding the site. While it was months between from my meltdown and my initial attempt to notify RJ of my wellbeing, I have not used and will not use DRB for my own gain(so I have no idea where joedobr gets his info).
3. The idea that I do not follow or read DRB is assinine. I don’t read it minute-by-minute as I’d like to, but I try to follow the team and the writers here as much as possible.
4. When my current living and work situation is more workable, I hope to return here with RJ and co.’s blessing. However from the looks of things, their minds may already be made up regarding me.
5. While I may not be the founder here, I feel that my time here served a purpose as being part of the staff here that bridged the time between its infacy to where it is today. David Bloom, Jim Wisinski, Patrick L. Kennedy, myself, Tyler and all the other writers each deserve their fair share of credit.
Thanks everybody for taking their time.

2. Yeah I remember all those emails saying you were going to be abs..oh wait.
3. There’s proof otherwise, but that’s not important.
4. Yeah, no thanks.
5. Sure, it did.
