Good Luck Rocco, thank you for the memories. You were great to watch when we had you on the field and great for the Tampa Bay area...
Now lose!
In the name of Shinji Mori, we shall win!

Careful there...
I got called an asshole for wanting Baldelli to lose/fail last night.
I want Baldelli to be healthy enough to play in 150 games, I just hope he sucks. Like Greg Vaughn suck.
Don't twist words
Anyway, as I was lying in the puddle, I think I may have found a way for us to get Bonds and Griffey, and we wouldn't have to give up that much.

$500k is peanuts, but he gets bonuses that push his salary to $2.25M as long as he's on the active rostor
So if he doesn’t get injured and produces like 4th OFer should, that’s a lot of money for roughly 250 PAs, if that much.
If it was the right decision for Rocco to leave...
then it is the right decision for all of us to root against him, and hope he whiffs on every pitch.
Tell you friend Sonnanstine about Boston, Rocco
Make him request a trade to the Red Sox!

WTF, why?

Sonnanstine is the second of the holy trinity here.
It goes: Upton, ’Tine, Los.

Yeah, I see
He’s so likeable, maybe it’s the “beard” or the slooooow windup.

It's the cheapness and the fact that he warms up to Lupe.
Plus, the “casual fan” doesn’t understand how good Sonnanstine is. So in some ways he’s our little secret.

That's what I like about Sonny as well
He’s a very good starter whose numbers don’t get enough attention as they should. And I also don’t think he’ll ever command ace money, or anything like even close to that.

Trust me, there are Mariners (and Nationals) fans out there who would kill to have a guy like Sonny in our rotation
I prefer him clean-shaven, though. It makes him look like he’s 45 years old, sort of like the eternally long-lasting Jamie Moyeresque pitcher I hope he turns out to be.
Patriotism, Pepper, Professionalism
Are you referring to the unfortunate facial hair he featured during that era or the unfortunate ERA+ he featured during that era?
He didn’t post a truly good season until he went to Baltimore in 1993 (which was the first time I knew anything about him, of course). By definition Sonny has already vastly exceeded that benchmark. If Andy holds to that proportional course then he’s going to become a Randy Johnsonesque 1st-ballot HOF monster of a pitcher. The new Nolan Ryan. And yeah, I guess that would suck for the Rays.
By the way, HOLY SHIT I WAS SIX YEARS OLD WHEN JAMIE MOYER FIRST STARTED HIS MAJOR LEAGUE CAREER.
Patriotism, Pepper, Professionalism
BTW
Sonny and Kevin Slowey in the same rotation would be truly messianic.

Yeah, I know
And even if I couldn’t, I’d still find a way to steal Sonnanstine from you guys. :)

Good 'ol Heater
Heartbroken. I am totally heartbroken over this. If those numbers are correct even the Rays could have afforded that. I don’t understand how they can make the same mistake with Rocco that they made with Hamilton. Stick with them all through the rehabs and then give up on them when they are finally back. I don’t get it.

A STUPID move by Friedman to sign Gross over signing Baldelli.

And I’m sure the hits will just keep on comin.
You would think
after single handidly turning this franchise around that people would stop second guessing Friedman. People on that site are imbeciles.
Hello.
