Tampa Bay Rays Announce 2010 Spring Training Schedule and Pricing

ST. PETERSBURG, FL-The Tampa Bay Rays today announced their 2010 Spring Training schedule as well as ticket pricing for 15 home games at Charlotte Sports Park.  In their second spring in Charlotte County, Fla., the Rays will open the home schedule on Thursday, March 4 against the Baltimore Orioles.

The Rays Grapefruit League home schedule includes three games against the Boston Red Sox (March 6, March 16 and March 30) and one each against the Philadelphia Phillies (March 12)  and New York Yankees (March 19).

In addition, the Rays will host the New York Mets at Tropicana Field on Friday, April 2.  Ticket information for that game will be released at a later date.  The Rays will also visit their International League affiliate and Triple-A Champion Durham Bulls on Saturday, April 3 before opening the regular season at home on Tuesday, April 6 against the Orioles.  It will be the Rays first visit to Durham since 2002.

Individual ticket prices for games at Charlotte Sports Park will range from $8 to $25.  Season ticket holders will continue to receive significant savings compared to single game prices.  They will also have the ability to purchase discounted parking.  Season ticket holders can save 40% by purchasing a season parking pass for $90 (only $6 per game).  Parking will cost $10 on the day of the game.

Spring Training season tickets at Charlotte Sports Park are still available.  Fans interested in placing a $50 deposit for Spring Training season tickets can do so by visiting www.raysbaseball.com/charlottecounty or by calling 888-FAN-RAYS.  All individuals who have placed a deposit will be contacted by early December to select their seats.

Single game tickets will go on sale in January.

The Rays will hold their first spring training workout with pitchers and catchers at Charlotte Sports Park on February 19.

Damn

I love baseball but $18 for the cheapest seatback?? That’s 2x the price of an upper deck seat in The Trop.

Spring training prices have gotten crazy. I remember skipping college in the mid 90’s to go to Astros games and shelling out $7 for a seat behind the 3rd base dugout.

We have a family condo just down the street from the complex

I’m hoping to take some time this March to get down there but with all the damn fantasy baseball commitments in March for the contests I’m in, it never works out :(

Not a very good discount for buying the entire spring

But then again:

a. I don’t live there.
b. I’m not retired.
