Moore #3, Beckham #5 on BA SAL Top 20
Matt Moore was beaten out by Martin Perez (a consensus top 20 prospect) and Casey Kelly. Beckham was the second rated position player on the list. Also appearing, Nick Barnese at #16. This is a 16 team league, so having three guys in the top 20 ain't half bad.

I liked Moore and Beckham's spot
Barnese could have gone a few spots higher but at least he is getting recognition.
This list gives us a glimpse of what our top prospect list might look like next season
Jennings
Hellickson
Davis
Moore
Brignac
Beckham
nice top 6 with in no particular order because there isn’t much difference to follow
Lobstein
Torres
Barnese
Rodriguez
McCeachern (sp)
Mcgee
Jennings, Hellickson, Davis, Brignac, Beckham, Moore > Your top 3
Any of the top 3 draft picks could be up there
I wouldn’t expect all three of them to break out, but I’d be surprised if one of them didn’t.

No love for Colome?
Baseball America ranked him #2 in the NYP league. That’s the same list Lobstein came in 10th on, and McEachern didnt make. I think he’s definitely one of our top 10 prospects.

Interesting that he rated so high
He had a great fastball, and that’s probably the most important pitch, but most of what I saw told me he’s likely a future reliever.

He's so far away
How can you tell he’s destined for the bullpen?

Obviously I can't for cure
But he didn’t even seem to have the makings of a usable third pitch. The fastball was great and the slider looked like it could be something down the line, but his change was nonexistant and his other pitch was some weird eephus looking thing (I couldn’t tell if it was a slow knuckleball or a fossum flip type curve, but it couldn’t have been going more than 50, was around the batter’s head, then dropped through the zone) that he struck a guy out with because he was caught so off guard, but wouldn’t be a usable pitch in the majors.

That's as high as I've seen Hellickson rated anywhere

Gist of the resports so far...
I finally broke down and bought a subscription after not having one for 2 years.
Moore – Rising FB sits low 90’s, touches 94, plus curve with tight rotation, change that screws. Pretty much the same report as last year, although it seems his change may have improved.
Becks – Let’s just say the defensive reports are even worse than anticipated. A bit surprised they still rated him #5 based on their report.
Barnese – sits 88-92, curve and change both flash plus but are inconsistent. Changes armslots a la what Sonnanstine used to do in the minors.
Colome – Is actually Jesus’s nephew (I didn’t know that). Sits 92-94, touches 96, says he has a curve with 11-5 break (what I saw looked more like a slider with 10-4 break, but whatever) that flashes plus and that the change is a work in progress but sometimes gets good movement.
Lobstein – inconsistent velocity, sometimes 88-90, others 85-88. Average curve, change could turn average.
Rodriguez – sits 92-93, touches 95. Plus curve, change with some potential.
Morrison – He fast. Good defender in CF. Has pull power potential.
Rogers – Good runner, natural feel for hitting, weak arm.
In the chats, mentioned that Albert Suarez had Tommy John surgery this year, that Bortnick could be a major league utility player, no Rays in the 21-30 range for the SAL list, and Beckham weighed 207(!!) to start the year. No mention of McEachren anywhere.

FWIW
They also said he worked his way back down to 195 by the end of the season, which is only about 5 – 10 pounds above where he was when drafted.
