The Candidates:

Mike Duvall(1998-2000), Franklin Nunez (2004-2005), Victor Zambrano(2001-2004), Scott Dunn(2006), Gary Glover (2007-2008), Jeff Bennett (2009)

Mike Duvall played in parts of three seasons for the Devil Rays. Duvall wore the number "47" during parts of the 1999 and 2000 season. During Duvall's time wearing "47," he played in 42 games where he had 42.1 innings of service time racking up 48 strikeouts.

Franklin Nunez played in parts of 2 seasons for the Devil Rays where he appeared in 9 games. Duing Nunez' time with the D-Rays he had an ERA of 7.47, while striking out 16 batters over 15.2 innings of work.

Victor Zambrano wore "47" for his last two season in St. Petersburg. During his two season wearing "47" Zambrano had a record of 21 wins over 17 losses and even had one complete game shutout.

Scott Dunn appeared in only 7 games for the Devil Rays earning 1 win and a ERA of 11.74 over 7.2 innings of work.

Gary Glover began his Devil Ray career wearing "47" then switched to wearing "58," only to revert to wearing "47" in 2008. While with the Rays he have 13 holds and 2 saves in 2007.

Jeff Bennett appeared in only 11 games for the Rays, earning an ERA of 9.95 over 12.2 innings of work where he did manage to strikeout 4 batters.
