The Topkin Mafia

Strikes again…What a shame. And the fact the Tribune is really withering really hurts the overall credibility of our market. This hurts.

Put Tampa Bay back on our road uniforms!! Attendance is only part of revenue!!

Tampa Bay's one of the last mid-markets in the country to have two newspapers

Other than Chicago, New York and LA, two-newspaper cities are an extreme rarity now.

Trenton, NJ still somehow has two

Even though the Times is just getting all it’s coverage from the Star-Ledger and the Trentonian is… well, a piece of crap, it’s pretty surprising that two have survived. I guess having New York AND Philly to cover(as well as New Jersey) is what’s keeping them alive.

I guess my point was that the second newspaper in much larger markets than Tampa Bay has shut down in many places

San Francisco, Detroit, Phoenix, etc.

Brett was alright

but he couldn’t keep up with Auman and the SPT gets all of the internet traffic for the USF following.

Also, the Trib is on the verge of going under.

I think he left of his own accord.

He’s already writing for AOL Fanhouse. He’s up a creek when Jay Mariotti single-handedly brings that site down with his extreme douchebaggery.

Not that I mind his departure. His personal grudge with Jim Leavitt was tainting his coverage.

Ugh

The one half decent print reporter has to leave.

How much can we bribe the Trib to hire Stacy Long?
