OTTOTD 11/12: I'll keep it simple edition
Seriously:
1) The Magic got beat bad yesterday, Discuss
2) Jamaal Charles or Lesean Mccoy
3) Here's a fun little site to track Aaron Rodger's sacks.
4) Link to World's most powerful people, Definitely not R.J Anderson
5) I never knew J.R Smith's real name was Earl.
6) Who saw Paranormal Activity?
7) Link to some great places to see
8) I need nine more words to make this post.

Is this the right way to do it?
Take the remaining players at the position and weight their % of the new total playing time. Then divide RAA/games played * 162 * % of playing time>?
Follow Me on Twitter @FreeZorilla
I would find his splits by position on B-ref, subtract that out from the positional offensive statistics,
and then either pro-rate the rest of the games at league average or just leave them out and figure the wOBA based on the new (lower) number of plate appearances. I think this makes sense, but I may have missed a step.
I'm not really a NUMBERS guy!!
by Andy Hellicksonstine on Nov 12, 2009 3:47 PM EST up reply actions
you can get RAA on fangraphs by position
Just use the position filter while on the team setting
Follow Me on Twitter @FreeZorilla
That's an option, I found it easier to do it team-wide the way I did
No park adjustments, it’s a WIP, but I probably won’t do that unless this turns into something bigger than on a whim.

I don't think you can just subtract out the wRAA, because my positional adjustments are inherent

0.356
0.208
0.382
0.380
0.362
0.312
0.309
0.322
leading to this for the new wRAAal:
-21.0
-1.4
-78.6
25.5
33.6
10.1
-9.5
-23.9
-11.5

Total -3.3 15.5 9.3 -4.4 0.5

at 2B I came up with a non-park adjsuted wRAA of 4.03 without Zo
I used each players total wRAA/total PA. I then figured out each players % of non-Zo PAs at 2nd base and applied that to the full teams 2B PA. I then multiplied this figure by the wRAA/PA. Team wRAA at 2B without Zo came out to 4.03. This figure would need to be park adjusted to do it correctly.
Follow Me on Twitter @FreeZorilla
and I suppose to compare across other teams 2B you would not need to do positional adjustments. Really it would just need defense right?
Follow Me on Twitter @FreeZorilla
Right, it's across position, so no need for positional adjustments, I wasn't sure
how to figure replacement value so that is now included as well.

I just went over to the 49ers blog, cuz I still can’t figure out who I’m gonna pick tonight, and one of the writers over there referenced this site www.profootballfocus.com I just visited for a minute but it seems crazy. They evaluate every player on every play of every game. It is the mother lode.

It seems to take them awhile to get the games up though. They still don’t have the evaluation of the TB/GB game on there, so who knows how long it takes? I can imagine quite awhile to go through all that film on every single player.

That is a nice bit of info
but he was dead wrong on Harrell and Daniel. Either the LCF is baloney or those guys will make a Kurt Warner-like resurgence in the NFL one day.
Funny that Stafford and Sanchez are both listed in tier 3 and Freeman is not even listed.
Of course, the LCF could be right and the scouts could just be dumb. It’s not like Stafford or Sanchez have set the world on fire yet.
