The Rays got the ball rolling with last week's trade of defensively gifted second baseman Akinori Iwamura (the trade market is moving already, with J.J. Hardy moving from the Brewers to the Twins for Carlos Gomez, and Mark Teahen going from the Royals to the White Sox for Josh Fields and Chris Getz), and they have a potential outfield replacement ready for Crawford in Desmond Jennings. The White Sox will consider dealing Jenks, whose salary is about to increase through arbitration, while the budget-conscious Marlins seem likely to move Uggla, who's probably not worth the $7.5 million he'll get through arbitration, at least not to Florida.

Slightly OT but amusing
Apparently, stupidity is spreading in baseball as an article actually suggests to think to make Hanson from ATL a closer(like we’ve seen ppl say about Price).

Can you imagine how many saves Nolan Ryan could have racked up?

I would think that Jennings is more an insurance for Upton if he rolls snake eyes again

I would think the all-glove, no-hit CF could be provided by Nando
There is no doubt in my mind that Jennings is the replacement for Craw.

I don't think he will bring as much as other people might, but he's not worthless
That’s why I proposed the Pierzynski, Thornton, and John Ely for Crawford trade. As the perceived value on prospects has steadily risen that makes established players relatively easier to acquire. It’s a different angle, and people may think we’d be getting hosed, but Thornton immediately upgrades our bullpen, AJ buys us a year at catcher where he could platoon with Navi (and he should bring a pick when he does leave after the year), and the Ely gives us another on-the-verge arm that can start at Durham for the year.
