Most of us probably have the same hopes, but lets see, my changes aren't much
1. Complete the Burrell/Bradley swap
2. Either let Jake McGee start the season in the pen or give the job to R.J Swindle
3. Sign Kiko Calero
4. Don't need Joe Mauer, find some C who can hit major league righties
5. Explore the Bartlett market, if it is a good one, give Brignac the job
How does everyone else feel about this 25 man?

S.T. competition
1. Let Talbot and Sonny battle it out for long man.
2. McGee Swindle Choate battle for loogy.
3. If Brignac or Jennings show that they are ready move CC,BJ or Bartlett for C/1B prospect.
4. Jaso vs. Lobaton for the right to catch 30 games.
How can you have any pudding if you havn`t eaten your meat? I`m still waiting...

If McGee's role would be a loogy, it's not worth it
His career WHIP is equal against LHB and RHB, but there’s a difference in his FIP because of homeruns. But if he’s back throwing mid-90’s, he has a chance to be a really good reliever, so let him begin the year in Durham and continue his development.

Loogy role
Until the end of last year I believe Maddon liked to use his relievers to pitch one inning each without “matching up” for individual batters. He would bring in a lefty to pitch because two of the next three batters are lefthanded but wouldn`t pull him to pitch to the righty in between like he did towards the end 2009. I`m interested to see if this trend continues or if he goes back to the one inning a piece philosophy.

I'd personally do some major overhauls
Trade Crawford – Put Joyce in left, put the Gabes in Right for one more year (or if Deezy forces his way in, that is fine too).
Trade Barty – Put Brignac as the starter at SS while having Zobrist fill in there on days off. We have enough guys who can play 2B
Trade Garza – I realize this is probably premature, but the fact is that I feel his percieved value is high and that we have leverage in any deal we try to make, something we wont have when teams know we can’t pay for him. Let Sonny/Hellickson/Talbot fight it out for the last starter role, and the expectation is that not all of them flounder when given your turn and we can churn out a viable 5th starter from that carousel.
Trade Wheeler – I’ve always been a fan of Wheeler’s but, even if its for peanuts, I’d try and shed that salary. Maybe pick up a toolsy A level prospect or something miniscule of that sort.
Trade Soriano – I know, we just got him, but I’m still hanging on to the nonexistent hope that the front office just got him so they could flip him to someone else. The Rays have the leverage in any deal they try to make involving Soriano because, if push comes to shove, we are willing to eat the contract given it is only 1 year, so other teams may have to give us more for him. This could turn into a Jesse Chavez for someone better type of scenario.
Trade Burrell – Get the Bradley swap done even if you have to take some of the money saved by shedding the reliever contracts. I don’t think we’re too far away and, while I still think Burrell could turn it around, I, like many of us, wanted Bradley from the start.
C – Shoppach
1B – Pena
2B – Zobrist
SS – Brignac
3B – Longoria
LF – Joyce
CF – Upton
RF – Gabes
DH – Bradley
Bench: Aybar, Gabe(s), Rodriguez, Jaso
SP1 – Shields
SP2 – Nieman
SP3 – Price
SP4 – Davis
SP5 – Talbot/Sonny/Helickson
RP – Howell
RP – Balfour
RP – Cormier
RP – Thayer
RP – 1 loser from 5th spot
RP – LOOGY (Choate/Swindle/McGee)
RP – Free Agent
really hate all that
this is the year. we have all the pieces to fight the Yankees for the East. Don’t trade CC, Gaza, Soiano and dont keep Gross.
Gross is done. 2010 = CC, Upton, Joyce
2011 = Jennings, Upton, Joyce
In 2011, Niemann can move to the pen for Hellickson which gives us a pen of Howell, Niemann, McGee, Cormier and random others
Fire and Ice: Rafael Soriano and J.P Howell.......with their side kick Grant the aussie Balfour!
you think we have Cormier for another 3 years...
he either doesn’t produce or he will cost too much. The above team is cheap and cost controlled for a longer period of time. Next year is probably not going to be the year with declining Pena / Bartlett and questions about B.J. and obviously Joyce.
Also, Burrell + Soriano are not better than Bradley + Next Best Reliever
if trading Soriano means we get the Bradley deal done then it is the right thing to do.
This really sucks ^
the user name Navi’s Navy kinda discredits everything you say anyway…
