I'm guessing she's on Jersey Shore?

HOW BOUT THAT CUSE TEAM FELLAS? UF gave them a good game knocking down several jumpers and 3’s early, but Cuse is too efficient at both ends and too deep on the bench. Anybody that watched got to see a top 5 team outplay a top 15 team. That’s meant as a compliment, UF has a decent squad and should be fine come tourny time. As for the Cuse, wow they good.

by Andy Hellicksonstine on Dec 11, 2009 10:08 AM EST reply actions

UF's best player is a freshman.

They’ll be a much better team come tourney time. They just didn’yt have the athleticism to play with the Cuse last night.

This Cuse team is one I could actually see myself cheering for. I usually hate Boeheim’s teams because of that lameass zone, but this team has some guys that can run the floor and really capitalize off of that great zone*. Also, nice Black Ginger Cuse.

*How come no one else in the country can come close to playing as close to as good of a zone as the Cuse? Has there really not been one assistant who picked up what Boeheim does to his teams to get them to play it so well? The Temple teams under Cheaney could rival it, but no one today is even close. I just don’t get it.

If Wake played Syracuse right now they'd lose by 50.

I don’t think we could break 40 against them. We wouldn’t be able to shoot our way out of it, and the only way we could score buckets would be off of the offensive glass. Our post players are too soft to really make you pay, and we wouldn’t have a Werner/Parsons to knife to the top of the key and knock a shot down. That zone would destroy us. Our offense would be Ish Smith dribbling around for 25 seconds and jacking shit up.

by rglass44 on Dec 11, 2009 10:22 AM EST up reply actions

I think a lot of it is that when Jimmy B eyes a talent he sees them for what they are and what they can be

He knows what kind of guys he needs for the 2-3 and they run it and run it and run it. I think their 100% acceptance of the zone is what makes them so good at it. Other teams might run it as an option, but when it’s all you do, they know their assignments in their sleep. Cuse will always be good defensively, because he knows what it needs, the question is if they can score enough. This year it looks good at both ends. That hurdle was bested now they have to manage to not lose to some underdog and get ready to beat snot out of UCONN/West Virginia/Louisville/ and all the other sick teams of the BEast.

I'm a writer.

by Andy Hellicksonstine on Dec 11, 2009 10:24 AM EST up reply actions

The Big East is strong like always, but I don't think there is a single team that is "great" per se.

There’s always the gutter of the Big East, and the Cuse should handle all those teams. I really don’t see a Big East team that’s as good as Kansas or Mich. State (or Kentucky come to tourney time). I think that really plays in the Cuse’s favor.

by rglass44 on Dec 11, 2009 10:30 AM EST up reply actions

UCONN gave UK a run the other day, it was a really entertaining game

They scare me inside and out at both ends and if they didn’t get off to such an abysmal start, they probably beat the Cats. I’ve watched Nova play a few times and they seem too loose. They’re prone to turn the ball over and seem to be relying on raw talent. If they get their shit together they could be good. Those are the only other teams I’ve seen more than a couple mins of.

I'm a writer.

by Andy Hellicksonstine on Dec 11, 2009 10:40 AM EST up reply actions

Meh.

UK isn’t that good right now. 2 or 3 of their 4 best players are freshman. They have the best player in the country (and it isn’t that close) along with some quality big men. They have a great coach (you may not like him, but he’s a great coach), and they’ll be a one seed come tourney time.

I never beilieve Nova can really be a great team. It just doesn’t fit. They never get enough size to truly be complete. UCONN lost a fair amount, but you know they’re always going to have players.

The team with the most NBA talent wins the tournament. Period. That team is probably Kentucky.

by rglass44 on Dec 11, 2009 10:46 AM EST up reply actions

Yeah the UK_UCONN game all you could see was how raw Kentucky was

With a top-of-the-line coach, which they have, that team is going to be filthy. They have some big dudes that can jump out of the gym, though I didn’t see much shooting touch, they are going to be able to run-and-gun with anyone.

I'm a writer.

by Andy Hellicksonstine on Dec 11, 2009 10:49 AM EST up reply actions

Yeah.

Patterson is awesome. Wake was actually the first program on him hard (along with Crews at UT), but he ended up at UK.

They have two very highly touted freshman down low that could also be one-and-dones.

I always leave KU out, but they have 3 possible lottery picks that are returning. This year’s tourney should be pretty exciting. It’s too bad there isn’t a legit top 5 team in the ACC to really make it interesting.

You're false, batch

Lets hope that works at the Trop this year where we already have the team pegged for a conservative 125 win season.

I was at the CWS game, first playoff in history and the building was bonkers, Central Ave was packed

before the game, Fergs was extended all over the place, everyone was in great spirits and I saw maybe 2 White Sox jerseys, and those guys got tossed out by security for starting shit. Longo hit 2 bombs, it was like a hockey game in there, I want more of that.

It was awesome.

I took an early flight down from DC in my Rays gear, and they’re were two other couples of Rays fans. My parents picked me up from the airport and went straight to Ferg’s. I blew so much money and didn’t get nearly enough sleep, but it was awesome. I’ve only missed two Rays home playoff games (games 6 and 7 of the ALCS).

Too strong, too big, too athletic.

I don’t know where Billy finds all these 6’6 to 6’10 skilled whities, but unless you shoot really, really well they can’t matchup against the Cuse this year.

My take on the Shore:

I think we may have two Inner Circle Reality TV HOF stars on our hands. Without a doubt, The Situation is in. He’s got it all: MONTE lines, funny situations, great facial expressions, a great catchphrase, etc. A dark-horse has entered the race, though. After the first ep I was almost glad to see Snickers packing up to go home. What a loss that would have been. She is an amazing reality TV character that really came into her own in this week’s episode. From her obsession with pickles to “getting her fix” from her fat “friend,” she really set a new high (low?) water mark for trashy reality TV chick. Making out with her friend to get the attention back on herself worked perfectly as she got to lock lips with the studmuffin The Situation. The “Pornstar in Training” is really putting this show on her back and carrying it to places I never thought possible.

by rglass44 on Dec 11, 2009 10:15 AM EST reply actions

I just can't get over this.

She’s yelling at him. He gets a disgusted look and turns to look at her. Decides “I’m gonna show this bitch,” and turns to throw a punch. Then he smokes her. He just destroys her. Look at her hair flying. God this shit is rediculous. You got a new angle in the this week’s ep when they previewed it.

I primarily use a porgram called "bioconductor"

It allows for statistical analysis of biological/genetic data, which i do a lot of. The native graphics ability is ok in R. But you really need to learn how to use ggplot (a program that runs in R), to fully exploit the graphics capability. That program is amazing.

I watch it and find it hilarious

The Situation is 27 years old. Unbelievable.

by RaysTheRoof on Dec 11, 2009 11:29 AM EST up reply actions

that's it.

I assumed he was at least 29. Apparently he and Jolie had banged (he even met her mother), and that’s why she cockblocked so hard.

by rglass44 on Dec 11, 2009 11:30 AM EST up reply actions

The best part was when we find out Jolie's current BF is actually married.

also Pauly D is 29. For some reason I find that endless amusing.

I’m having a hard time figuring our Ronnie. He seems to have no personality at all. Just massive.

by RaysTheRoof on Dec 11, 2009 11:41 AM EST up reply actions

I love when he got all emo.

It was hilarious. Then he may have banged JWOWW.

How about them putting charcoal in a gas grill and nearly burning the house down?

by rglass44 on Dec 11, 2009 11:45 AM EST up reply actions

hahahahahahahahahaha

I forgot about that. That was so funny. The fire is about to reach the Gas canister and they are just sitting their like idiots laughing. Probably 1-2 minutes away from an explosion.

I also like the sticking a light into the grill while the gas is on method of lighting it.

by RaysTheRoof on Dec 11, 2009 11:48 AM EST up reply actions

lol yes

Other randomly hilarious things:

As they pan the club to show Ronnie dancing with the other chick, you catch a quick glimpse of The Situation tongue bathing some chick. I’d say making out doesn’t quite do it justice.

Snickers and her friend dancing in the empty dive bar, trashed in the middle of the day. The learing creepy old guys getting a kick out of every time Snickers skirt rode up and you saw her thonged/bare ass (not sure which).

Jolie’s attitude about not going to work because she didn’t feel like it. That she had the “common courtesy” to walk all the way to work (next door) to tell them she wouldn’t work, but she couldn’t be bothered to find a replacement.

by rglass44 on Dec 11, 2009 11:55 AM EST up reply actions

Ronnie's dancing was very interesting.

Snicker and the white trashy friend getting their dance on was unbelievable.

I’m convinced that The Situation is the single most compelling character in the history of reality TV.

by RaysTheRoof on Dec 11, 2009 12:10 PM EST up reply actions

He really is.

MTV found a gold mine with him. He’s going to be a staple on Challenges for the next 10 years.

by rglass44 on Dec 11, 2009 12:11 PM EST up reply actions

Yeah.

Sammi has amazing legs, so it’s suprising how thick her stomach looks at times. We’ve yet to see her in a bathing suit too. She has a pretty face, so it’s a shame she guidettes it up. JWOWW’s body is redic. Her boobs are awful, though, My friend absolutely loves them, but I don’t get it. Snookies (Snickers, whatever) is just gross. Jolie has some awesome boobs, but her face is too Jewy and she seems a little too thick.

All of them are awful, though, as far as personality goes.

No idea if anyone cares, but:
MONTGOMERY – The Montgomery Biscuits are proud to announce the hiring of Joe Davis as Radio Broadcaster for the 2010 season. Davis, who becomes the youngest Double-A lead announcer in the country at 22, will call play-by-play of all 140 Biscuits games while also handling the club’s media relations duties.

A graduate of Beloit College in Wisconsin, Joe comes to the Biscuits after serving as Manager of Broadcasting and Media with the Northern League’s Schaumburg Flyers.

“We are excited to have Joe Davis as part of our organization," said Biscuits President/General Manager Greg Rauch. "He is a young, outstanding, up-and-coming broadcaster in minor league baseball and we’re thrilled to have him."

Davis spent three seasons as the lead voice for Beloit basketball and baseball, while calling play-by-play for D3Football.com and D3Hoops.com, NCAA D-1’s Horizon League Network, and filling-in for broadcasts of Loyola University-Chicago women’s basketball and men’s volleyball. Davis was also behind the microphone for official coverage of the NCAA D-3 football and basketball national tournaments and the Illinois High School Volleyball State Championships. In addition, his broadcasting resume includes stints as Sports Director of Beloit’s campus radio station, and as a sports-talk host and producer on local radio and television.

The Potterville, Michigan native played four seasons of football at Beloit, serving as team captain during his senior campaign. Davis is also the founder and owner of Big-Game Preserve Video Productions, a sports video production company, and was recently named the John Hughes Entrepreneur of the Year at Beloit College.

"I’m incredibly proud to become the next Voice of the Biscuits," said Davis. "The Biscuits franchise is truly the class of minor league baseball, and it boasts one of the most loyal fan-bases you’ll find in all of minor league sports. The responsibility of describing the action to those great fans is one that I’m honored to have."

On the air, fans can expect an upbeat, friendly style with a great deal of attention placed on detailed descriptions, Davis said.

"In reality, no two batted balls are ever exactly the same, no two stances or deliveries are identical, and no two nights at the ballpark ever produce the same exact atmosphere. And so they should never be described the exact same way. I challenge myself to create the most complete, detailed word pictures I can. A shortstop doesn’t just field a grounder and throw. He slides left, gloves knee-high behind the bag, and fires a bullet across in time to retire the runner by a half step. If listeners of Biscuits baseball can’t picture that, then, in my opinion, I’m not doing my job very well."

Davis becomes the third broadcaster in team history, replacing Jon Laaser, who left the team after the 2009 season to become the voice of the Richmond Flying Squirrels.

All 140 Biscuits games during the 2010 season can be heard live on either Montgomery’s News Radio 1440, WLWI-AM or SportsRadio 740 AM. All games are also available live on-line at the new on-line home of the Biscuits, newsradio1440.com.

As a potential starter with little MLB experience, recent injuries and no more options, I’m not sure he has much any value at all. Maybe he can become a good reliever and build up value there.
