If you were doing a greatest moments list
there would be a terrific argument for Dan Johnson.
Aki jumping on second base and Price throwing his hands in the air
still sends chills up and down my body.
Hooray for CubsStats.blogspot.com !
Also
Longo’s two homers in game one of the ALDS
And Price striking out Drew in the eighth inning of the Game 7 game

Alright, how about
The 19 run game against Toronto in ’04
Or the Ray record 10 run first in ’05

Yes,
we can make up a team of such moments. Certainly the Hammel relief job, the Aki moment (which is forever etched in my mind and among the several reasons I always liked him), the Dan Johnson moment and for me too the foul ball out that Longoria caught to clinch a playoff berth. Not really dramatic as a play or even as a crucial moment as the Rays had put the game away long before, but I was in the ball park and the euphoria was, well, euphoric.
if someone wants to do poll on on "greatest moments..."
Be my guest. There is no real sure fire way to vote on that nor look up. I mean, what do you exclude? Walk-off homeruns? game winning hits? Let’s be honest, except for 1 season The Rays really haven’t had actually “great” moments. There have been nice moments like Wade Boggs hitting 3,000. Nomo getting career win 200 in the Nippon Leagues and MLB. But, all and all the list would be filled with memories of ‘08. it’s a great thought though.

Start a thread asking everyone to list a moment
Then you can put those in various buckets to be voted on afterwards. The only caveat is that you need a lot of participation to get a lot of great moments.
I'm a writer.
